Greetings everyone!
Hope everyone is doing well!
For those that did not see my post on how I attempted to build this; my first slot car track and are interested, this is the link to that post: http://slotblog.net/...ing-test-track/
As I was frustrated with the cracks that occurred on the track and was wanting to get rid of it, my wife (some of you as well) suggested that I finish it.
I also conceded that it would be much easier to sell completed, than trying to sell unfinished!
I also appreciated the support some of you gave me - "Thank you!".
As I looked into the primer cracks, it was discovered that certain small areas had "ply delamination".
So I ground out those areas and repaired it with super glue and baking soda.
I reprimed those areas, blocked sanded, sprayed sealer and painted it.
I used acrylic urethane automotive paint, it's called HOT ROD FLATZ; when cured, has a matte finish.
It has a very smooth feel to it and was concerned about tire grip, but needn't be concerned because it works well with the tires I produce for my cars.
Track sprayed with sealer and ready for color
Painted
I put the track out for a little bit to accelerate the curing of the paint (and hoping the birds wouldn't poop on it LOL!)
Brought in the track and getting ready to place it on the tables
Track being wired
Track laid out and ready for copper tape
Tape laid out
Controller Stations Mounted and hooked up
Closeup
Mounted rubber corner guard rails
and the Track is finished!
As for tire grip - no problem!
My cars run very well, pleased that my first track came out well.
Now, I'm ready to build another one - LOL!
After I sell it of course!
If only I had room to keep it.
Thank you for looking!
Ernie
