My first thingie build & attempt at lace painting with a rattle can.
Using an original body, U-GO blues & Pactra Super hemi X88 mkII.
There wasn't a lot of room for driver hence body is just paint on the card interior and his head has been flattened.

Anyone else notice this car uses a REHCO "Dubro" motor bracket, which was  probably made by Associated?

Thanks chaps, glad you all like it.

Bill re the dubro bracket, because they are still available I have more of those than russkit, buzzco etc, which is why I chose it.

Dubro also done this bracket with adjustable rate suspension, I have a couple of those also.

Lee, nothing wrong with using those Dubro brackets at all. Not too many years ago, those were the only commonly available inline brackets in the US. I used some & still have a couple of spares.  Russkits today will cost you an arm & a leg, if you can even find them. When Parma bought them out from Russkit, they sold those for 19 cents each, I've seen them offered at $20 or more today. I'd make my own first.  :laugh2:  .I've seen photos of the adjustable rate suspension Dubros, but never had them or the Buzzcos. Most brackets I see today here in the US have two horizontal mounting holes for the sealed FK motors popular in retro racing.

Isaac, did you get those Dubro brackets to repair a couple vintage chassis or are you going to scratchbuild other ones? Just a nosey question on my part.

.

Electric dreams has some Russkit brackets but they are $15 without shipping. The 26D brackets are cheaper from what I remember.

One for a scratchbuild and one extra for future use.

ED did have the Russkit brackets priced at $25. I often wondered how many they sold  at that price. PCH has a Wilde drag bracket  that can easily be modified to look like a Russkit, REHCO used to sell a 26D bracket packaged with the "Dubro" 16D/hemi, both for less than $5. I think they ran out of those a couple years ago. Those 26D brackets also fit the Pittman can (6001 & 6001BB)..
