A Main results              Duran slowly pulled away as Sam ran into early trouble but a dogfight for the final podium spots.  Alex just nipped Herman for 3rd in the closing seconds of the final heat and a solid run to 2nd by Dale.

I have the identical Kamo F1 chassis, and the same Kamo CanAm chassis that Duran used to get 2nd in that race, but obviously their setup and driving produce far different results!  :-/

Yes exactly--there's a lot of DIFFERENT designs in that race!!!  Congratulations to Dennis for TQ---and Duran puts 10 laps on the FIELD with a HiTech chassis??  Can you say--"driving skills"!!?

  A quick 2021 Western States wrap-up and a few words of thanks....

 

Congrats to the winners....Duran Trujillo in Retro Coupe and F1,  Dale Yamashita in F1FT,  Rick Linn in Retro Pro and Sam Rackham in Can Am.

 

Super run by Sam in Can Am to come from behind and set a new track record of 379 laps!   Durans victory in F1 and Dales in F1FT also set new lap records.  

 

 Congrats Dennis Samson on a new F1 Qualifying record of 3.63. Great run Dennis!

 

 A special thanks to Tim Homola of JK products for the generous donation of race prizes and thanks for the all the help you provided racers with motor break in and evaluation with the new JK Pro Motor Dyno and Analyzer. Thanks Tim!

Thanks Bill Taylor for the awesome award plaques and thanks Joe Gallagher for the striking Western States banners that brightened up the walls!

 

A special nod to Bill Vanderziel who is still recovering from neck surgery and had to resort to driving left handed to race and still managed to secure A Main sit-outs in both Can Am and F1.  

 

 The SCRRA wishes to the thank Sam Rackham, Bill Vanderziel, Mill Conroy, Earl McCutcheon, Alex Freund and any other racers who helped out in any way to keep the event running smoothly over the 3 days.  

 

 A great BIG thanks to Piranha Speedway, Richard Curnutte, Jason Holmes and Bill Taylor for putting on the event and thanks Richard for all the time and effort spent in sorting out the hand out motors!  Thanks Rich!

 

 And lastly a congrats to all the podium finishers and also a BIG thanks to all the racers for their attendance... A very good weekend of SCRRA Retro racing!
