Sano 14 - Oct 14-16

Many factors have made it a fairly easy decision.
The Delta Covid 19 resurgence.
While Illinois hasn't been hit as hard as other states, our governor reinstated an indoor mask mandate, a few weeks ago.
My volunteer helper at the raceway, Jim Crider had a stroke and still is recovering.
Another regular local racer, has a wife battling a serious illness, and I would prefer him concentrating on that situation, vs. making the type of effort he put out at the last Sano.
Some of the out of town racers haven't been racing or haven't been traveling.
On a positive note, I've been crazy busy with CR products going out to the distributors.
Not just motors , where I've stayed on top of my vendor, to provide ones that racers have been real happy with, but with my whole line of products.
Not a CR distributor item, but my weighted guide shoe business is still growing.
Raceways that carry them, have been ordering more often, and ordering more.
Last, but not least, my birthday party and casual rental business is creeping back.
With concentrating on building up my CR business, and finishing my drag strip, my rental fleet needs a serious tune up, along with the floor in my party area.
All the above said, I really appreciate the out-of-towners who have encouraged me to still hold the race.
It means a lot to me that they've raced here in the past, and want to make the long drive back to race, in the craziest time of our existence.
I'll reexamine things in the late winter, to see if a spring race is viable.

Well Mike,
I wish you would have cancelled sooner. I started planning this trip one year ago. The cutoff date for my AirBnB refund was 2 weeks ago. So now I either use the house or lose over 900 dollars. So with all that being said. The Sano Food Tour will go on as scheduled. Plus every opening minute at Chicagoland Raceway, I will be there so Mike can see my pouting face Wednesday through Saturday. Maybe some Drag racing can be scheduled while I am there or a couple of house races.
See you in October,
Dan

Your pouting face is a good reason to wear a HUGE mask!

Any more thoughts on this Mike?

Unless we have another onslaught of Covid, I don't see any reason not to have it.

Okay we just booked our Airbnb for the week. Let the Sano and Chicago Food Tour begin. Maxwells is high on the tour list.

Is the Sano race and dates set in stone? A month away and I see no new comments or posts on it. I'm planning on racing in it.

The race is for sure, Oct. 14-16.
Same schedule as in the past two years.
I know I haven't done a great job promoting it.
Along with CR distributor orders, I've been so far behind on weighted guides, and then the ISRA Worlds crept up on me, not realizing it was earlier than normal, which put me further behind, so I've been short on time.
It will be great having you again.

Home Run Inn Pizza has been added to the Sano Food Tour. Already on the list, Maxwell's, Juicy O's, Taco Grill and either Portillo's or another Mike Swiss approved Hot Dog stand.
