Soaking in Superclean for several days to a week. Using an electric toothbrush to scrub.

The old MPC Offy factory painted body I did a few weeks ago.

Dubro Vette owner painted with thick yellow paint back in the '60s. Soaked a week and scrubbed every few days.

Haven't found a Lancer or Pactra body to try yet.

I did this with a Strombecker Aston Martin ( which is not actually clear to begin with ) and whatever it was made of totally absorbed the color of the Super Clean.

It came out an intense shade of purple.

Just a little note to anyone who is going to soak theirs.

Joe, I have only done this twice with vac bodies, the MPC  and the Dubro.   Not sure how this will react with other plastics.    I have done many injection molded bodies with no issues at all.   I think I tried with resin one time and it softened the resin.   It does eat chrome off and layers of skin!  Best to always experiment before dipping  that body you can't replace.

Joe, I had a similar result with the Aston Martin and Super Clean. Whatever the plastic Strombecker used is different the Butyrate other manufacturers used. Mine started to break down after a day and a half.
