a friend just gave me a monogram car and I think it used to be the Ferrari 275p (has model kit body). is in really nice shape and looks almost unused besides the different rear wheels. I think the fronts are original. just wondering what bare wheels look like or the whole wheel and tire so I can try to find some on e pay.

oh and are all the monogram body posts the same? thinking it would be cool to try and put a monogram body on instead of some random old butyrate one.

Would something like these be correct for the rear?

I think those were optional, and wider than original kit wheels.

Monogram had a couple of different mounting post configurations. A picture of the chassis will help.

That should fit most 1/24 Monogram bodies. That is the second gen chassis, IIRC.

My Monogram Chaparral 2 car with the newer chassis (second gen.) has wheels and tires like these.  Tires are slightly less than 1/2" wide.

That chassis will fit but is incorrect for the 275P. That is the second gen chassis that uses the wider rear wheels.

The chassis shown is actually better than the first gen in my opinion.

The correct chassis would be all brass and have a 36D end bell drive motor.

The correct chassis would have 3/4 diameter wheels of the same width at all four corners.

I believe the correct part number is SR1101.

I have some used 3/4"wheels if you need them.

If you are going with that second gen chassis just mount some fresh rubber on you wheels.

Sorry Mark, I had an old age brain fart. For some reason I read this incorrectly.

That chassis is indeed correct for the second series 275P. It also is correct for the hard body Chaparral and the Porsche 904 second series. I'm not sure if the Scarab came in the second series but the chassis will fit that body.

These four bodies come up on ebay as separate kits but are usually not cheap. Sometimes you can snag a bargain. They also reissued the Scarab and 275P as model kits but be aware these have no molded in mounting posts.

Most of the repop urethane tires will sork well. The EJ's Hobbies ones are also good.
