We had good races and a good turnout of racers at Capital City Raceway last Saturday: 15 racers allowed for A and B Mains (combined for overall results) in LMP, and volunteer marshals plus a sit-out enabled us to run a nine-racer non-crash-and-burn race in Pro GTP.
P. A. Watson swept the wins in both LMP and Pro GTP. Second place in LMP was hotly contested, with Heath Hall taking the place by one lap over Randy Mueller and two over Ken Stevens. I managed second in Pro GTP but wasn't much of a threat as PA took that win by 14 laps.
Heath was TQ in LMP. Ken Stevens was TQ in GTP before DNF-ing in the race. Unfortunately, I didn't get the times before leaving the shop... same was true for the race lap times in the B Main of LMP. My bad. I'll see if I can get those times; if so, I'll update the results.
My new format for race results below now includes tech data. I hope this is helpful and not too much to sort through.
Thanks again to Tom and Chris at CCR, to all of the Austin-area racers for supporting CCR, and to Houston-area racers who made the trip.
Race 6 is at Magnatech Raceway here in San Antonio on October 9... that's just two weeks from today. So if, like me, you have some repairs to make, better get started.
See you there, and maybe we'll get some SA-area racers to make appearances.
