As many of you are aware, at past RetroPalooza races we have done a raffle for a special raffle for a RTR car to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. With everything that has gone on the past two years, we couldn't make it happen. But I am happy to announce that we are making this happen for the upcoming 2021 edition of The Fall Brawl.

The details of the car:

It is an F1, with chassis and assembly by Ed "Edsel" Sohl. The body is a custom-painted one done by Joe 'Noose' Neumeister (body pictured below). All other components to complete the car have been donated by Port Jeff Raceway. This will be an absolute first-class car.

As in the past, I will be taking sales of tickets leading up to the race weekend via PayPal, or by check if you let me know beforehand via PM or email that you want to handle it that way.

My PayPal is johnnyvw164@gmail.com.

And as in the past, you need to do it via friends and family and do not put any notation as to what it is for. If you need confirmation payment has been received, please use PM here on the blog, or via email. PayPal is getting very difficult to deal with; please don't give them an excuse to shut down my account.

I will be logging all payments, ticket numbers, etc., as they are received.

As far as ticket sales at the race itself, at this time I can only confirm that I will be there Sunday morning prior to the Can-Am race for in-person sales. As with past races, the winning raffle ticket will be pulled at the completion of Can-Am qualifying Sunday morning..  So if you won't be there Sunday and want to be a part of this, you will need to buy your tickets ahead of time.

In the past we have raised some very nice donations for the Wounded Warrior project.

Ticket prices are $5 per ticket, or five for $20.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Here's a pic of the body:

Note: I mistakenly said that F1 was racing Sunday; it is not. The raffle will still be Sunday morning, but it is after the Can-Am qualifying.

If you have sent money to me via paypal and have NOT messaged me one way or the other, please do so now so I can confirm payment.  There are 4 guys that have sent payment that I was only aware of by checking my paypal account.  I want to be sure if you intended to send me money that it actually got to me.

Oh, if you intend to mail payment, better do it now.  Can't trust USPS to get it to me in a timely manner....

Thanks!

The car is not assembled yet, but pics of the chassis will be posted soon.  Considering Edsel chassis took 1st and 3rd at the Retro East race this past weekend, you can be assured it's good stuff!  :-)

I tried to send money to John's PayPal account listed here but PayPal says it can't find that account. Has anyone else had this problem? PayPal has a different account for John that I used last time but I don't want to send it there until I know for sure it will get to John.

I copied and pasted what John posted in the first post in this thread.

Butch, make sure you didn’t put the period after .com.

John said he’s getting money in.

OK, I think that's a wrap for pre-race ticket sales. Thanks for all who purchased tickets.

Ticket sales will start tomorrow morning at SpeedZone, winner to be announced after Can-Am qualifying.

The raffle was held and in strange twist of fate the car was won by non other than Joe "Noose" Neumeister.  All totaled, $1000 was raised to donate to the Wounded Warrior Foundation. As a bonus, since I get regular mailings from WWF, they are currently running a promotion in conjunction with the Blue Angels foundation, where this will be doubled to $2000 !  A big THANK YOU !!!  to everyone who bought tickets, both on here and at the raceway.
