I have an original Cidex from back in the day it works fine.

I want to know how the much voltage it takes to light up the led on the board and how does it get thru the controller, track and car?

Thank you in advance.

This could get very interesting....

An LED would need both a + and a - current. Drag tracks typically only have 2 posts, which are + and track. There's no -. On a road course, the brake is the -.

So if it was originally a road course controller, then you might be out of luck.

It’s an original Cidex drag controller, I know Cidex also made a road course controller too. It had 2 switches that were adjustable for power and brake.

The LED more or less shows continuity through  the motor. The light only comes on when the car is placed in the lane, otherwise it stays off.

If the leads are switched on the posts the light will change color from green to red. It has no bearing on the function of the controller. Just the light color.

So does the controller work with the leads switched, or is that the point of the red light?

IOW, is it a warning light?

The controller function doesn’t change, just the color of the LED.

The road course Cidex has the LED too. The color change might mean wrong hookup for road course on that controller.
