Flew into LAX last month and  finally visited Electric Dreams. Bought several copies of Philippe de Lespinay's great new book, rediscovered these “things” and once back in France, I added a few more Ceetahrachas to my old collection of cars bought many, many years ago.  Now on vacation in our mountain place (Cevennes) I am slowly trying to get everything looking good and with correct parts. Getting there.  The green one came from Electric Dreams 13 years ago and is my reference .

Look forward to seeing more of your collection :)

Thanks Martin,  I am not at all an expert or major collector like many of you here but just like the shape and "mechanics" of some of the older cars.  I have some Cox, Riggen, Strombecker and a few K&B “Cobras”  I have always liked slot cars ever since I stole my first car in 1964.

Very nice Cheetahracha, love your photography too. You live in a beautiful spot of the world. What a view.

"I stole my first car in 1964" can you explain this?

Thanks. I stole a lumpy Red Eldon slot car from a neighborhood kid I didn’t like (bad kid). Still have the car somewhere  in a box back in CA. Then I bought a Strombecker Pontiac and Cox controller to try out the new slotcar place in Mountainview CA. ’66 I think. I was a kid and they were (to me) pros. I remember they had a  “loop the loop” which I tried and my car  basically fell and exploded. That ended that.  Later on in life, I stole a real  1970 Dodge Challenger here in France (it was a test track car where I worked and sitting for years so I just organised a closed truck and took it. Long story though)  Just trying out photos in country house in south of France

Are those regular 1/24 scale Cheetah bodies or are they specifically made for that chassis? If special does anyone sell or repop them.

They are meant for the IFC Cuccuraha chassis. They have a spoiler fitted to the front. Do not know if anyone repops them. I do not think they are vacform? The ordinary Cheetah was mounted with posts the Cheetahracha screws into the chassis through the bodywork.

You could take a standard Cox Cheetah and cut the bottom off, drill the mounting holes etc.

There was a Toy company that had the bodies in stock or had the tooling to make them. The were over $100 a few years ago.

They made tin toy parts too, I will do a search.

Here you go. Classic Tin Toy Co.

Body $165,

window glass $75,

chrome $150

Driver $45, $20 unpainted.

front spoiler $30. or $50 if you want a color.

How bad do you want one, this stuff is pricey.

This was in my watch list. It sold for $272 + tax and shipping.

There is a guy in Oz that makes perfect mag frame versions of the Cox Cheetah body.   He is thepartsbox.com, last I knew.

these were built with his bodies.
