I have waited as long as I could (maybe too long some would say) to make a decision on R4 2022. Three months ago we were all excited that it looked like nothing was standing in the way of restarting planning. We even have something very special (we think) lined up for the racers. As anyone who has planned a race of the size know, there is a ton of work and planning involved, The fact we are also a full-line hobby shop makes that a little harder.

Many of you also know that we have the additional challenge of my wife Cindy’s health. No… she is doing very well just her recovery is taking a little longer than thought. Add this COVID bug that doesn’t seem to want to go away and it becomes hard to plan something this size several months out with any amount of confidence that it will happen. Both for us and for you. The last thing we want is to be forced to cancel last minute and screw up your plans and ours.

So, no R4 2022. We are starting our house racing again. But those are much easier to cancel without too many problems. Our original plan was to have a R4-ish race in March 2022 that would ease us back into the groove, pun intended. Now we are planning to host a race, which is the something special I mentioned earlier, sometime between now and R4 2023. Then would come the R4 2023 as usual.

With a little more time in both Cindy’s recovery and COVID recovery we will hopefully not have to worry about any type of cancelation or delay.

Sad news and good news, but you are doing the right thing considering all the circumstances.

Let us know when the house racing resumes. We'll be there.

I'm late into this conversation but it's fantastic news about Cindy. Give her my best.

Schedule permitting I'd like to attend the pre-R4 out of mothballs race. Keep us advised.

I have passed on your best wishes. If you could attend that will be great.

Hopefully we will have more details in the month or so.
