There was some confusion regarding the FSCS Endurance race that was scheduled for Dec. 11.

In order to give racers time to arrange teams, Ed has rescheduled the Endurance race to Sunday Jan. 9.

Here is his announcement:

We will run the LMP class on the Hillclimb track with current FSCS rules minus the handout tires.

Teams can be made up of 1-3 people on each team.

Doors will open at 9:00AM with tech opening at 10:15AM. Racing will start at 10:45AM

Pit pass will be $5.00 per person with a $30.00 entry fee per team. Each team will receive 1 handout MID America Eagle Retro motor. Additional motors can be purchased for $12.00 each day of the race.

The endurance race will be 8 minute heats two times around all eight lanes for a total of 16 minutes on each color.

In addition, FSCS is working on a schedule for 2022 along with rules and types of classes that will be run. They will all be ironed out by the Endurance race and there will be no points race scheduled for January in 2022.

Everyone please have some patience and we look forward to seeing all of you next year.

We wish all of our racing family a safe and very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Regards,

Fast Eddie

I assume that the car body and the chassis center section are the only two things that cannot be changed during the enduro.

Is that correct?

Will chassis clearance be checked at the beginning of the last heat?
And also, at other times?

The FSCS "Guidelines for All Car Classes" states:
"3.1.11 All cars must have a minimum track clearance of 0.047" under the rear axle and gear at the beginning of the race and a minimum of 0.039" at all times thereafter."

After thinking about it some more, I now understand the logic behind allowing a single driver to be a team.

It increases the income for the raceway (a good thing), and having enough turn marshals wouldn't be a problem b/c ghost drivers could be added.

I retract my objections (I deleted the post).  I have no issue with allowing 1 driver to make up a team.

Actually, probably the most important reason to allow 1-driver teams is it means no driver will be excluded simply b/c he wasn't able to find someone to team with.

On that note, I am going to try to make it for this one. Is anyone looking for a teammate?

I might be able to attend. It is a Sunday so good coming from Ocala. I don't drive well on hillclimbs but good in the pits and setup. I do have a lot of equipment I travel with.

That is correct Dale. Any work or normal maintence that needs to be performed on the cars will be done during green flag racing.

Yes.....we will be using these rules and will also be performing spot checks during the race.

Steve,

I'll chime in here.  When Ed sees this post, he might add more clarification.

In post #1, Ed said the rules would be the same for the enduro as they were for the regular season except for handout tires.

The link to the rules is:

That is correct Dale....we will be using the fscs 2021 standard LMP rules for the tech on the cars and you are also correct on the tires.

Hey guys:

I'm new to Florida and am living in Lecanto.  I'm interested in trying to make it to the Enduro race.  It's been a couple of years since I've run and never been to any tracks here in Florida, I'll be looking for a partner also

There are two Wednesdays between now and the enduro.  At Eddie's, Wed's are test & tune from 5 'til 9:30.

I'm planning on being there next Wed to do some prep for the enduro and get more comfortable with the track.

I don't need a partner but other guys might be there that do.

Enduro tire wear -- what to expect if you run JK wonder rubber (from testing last Wednesday).  The left tire wear after about 1700 laps was .025" and the right was .030".

If your chassis has .039" clearance with, say .685 tires, then add .030 (= .715) to determine the minimum tire diameter that you need at the start of the enduro if you don't want to have to change tires.

Note:  Based on the lap times of the last FSCS LMP race at Eddie's, the lap count in each of the enduro's sixteen 8-minute heats will be between 106 and 112, depending on the lane, resulting in a total of about 1700 laps.

Understood Ray.....we hope your follow up goes well Bro!

I have several racers from Fast Eddie's that will be in the race and teams should be worked out before Thursday. I also know Robbie Reese expressed joining us as well so we should have a full field if not 9 teams for this Sunday's Endurance race.

I have not heard from any of the Avon Park gang joining us. If anyone is interested from Avon Park and needs a teammate we'll make sure you get on a team one way or another.
