2021's final D3 Hardbody races at Buena Park Raceway had a very lite turnout 6 days before Christmas. Covid is beginning to increase again as the 2nd variant, Omicron (first variant was the Delta variant) has just begun spreading in America (started in South Africa weeks ago).
We had one race today, a Mixed race for any D3 Hardbody Racing class.  A field of 6 entries including Bob Ahulii, Ken Dylke, Michael Kale, Jim LaBarba, Keith Tanaka and Russell Van Wyck.
It was an interesting race with 2 Foreign Production Sports cars (Audi R8, Mercedes 300 Gull Wing), Porsche 962, Nissan GTR, Trans Am Firebird and a Utility X "Movie" car, Speed Racer.

The "Lap Differential" podium had Keith 1st, Michael Kale 2nd, Bob Ahuii 3rd. The "Racer Handicap" podium had Jim LaBarba 1st, Michael Kale 2nd and Bob Ahulii 3rd.

Thanks to our race director, Jim Lane.

Thanks to Jim Watterson (and Eddie) for their support of D3 Hardbody Racing at Buena Park Raceway. Today was Jim Watterson's final day as owner of BPR. Thanks to Jim for having BPR available for slot car racers in SoCal for over 11 years.
Good luck to the new ownership.

The next D3 Hardbody races at BPR on Sunday, January 16, 2022. BPR opens at 10 am, GTP race starts at noon sharp followed by a quick lunch, then the Mixed race.

Happy New Year, stay safe!
