Fellas,

The next meeting of the C.A.R.S. Vintage Slot Car Club is next Thursday, Jan. 6, 2022, at 7:30 PM at The Race Place in Farmingdale, NJ.

The theme for January is American cars. Race cars, street cars, hot rods, or customs; all scales welcome.

Take a look at prior posts on this page to see what is brewing for 2022.

Pete I'll see you tomorrow.  Mostly HO scale but some of the bigger ones might sneak into a box.

Fellas,

As mentioned in an earlier thread, we have the 2022 themes scheduled so that the guys can prepare cars/stuff for upcoming meetings. Our January meeting was to focus on "American Cars" and they were out in force with three scales 1/24,1/32, and HO all well represented.

We also had a number of 1/24 slot cars that were actually raced in the past and "frozen in time" as it were. These cars were among my favorites at the event.

Additionally, this year we'll also try to spread out the photos that are taken at the meetings over the span of a few weeks so that visitors to this thread can return more often to see what's new in the picture dept.

Here's a small portion of photographs from last night...

Part of Mikey's HO car collection at The Race Place Friday night and one of my all time favs, the Chaparral 2E by Tyco.

Rodney's Cheetah, great paint color and wheels on this car, also a photo of the cat's "innards".

Bottom pic is part of my group of American cars that made the trip.

Stay tuned for more photos in the near future.

A few more from January's meet...

Mikey's  1/32 PACKARD CABLE CAR SPL. front drive Miiler and the McLaren kit in 1/32 scale as well.

Rodney's COBRA GT 1/24 Dynamic framed car, looks like a Champion big can in the Cobra. We also have Rodney's Ford GT another big can powered Dynamic chassis.

The rest of my vintage American cars for the January meeting.

As mentioned in another C.A.R.S. thread we'll be looking at older Flexi cars from our collections, more specifically old racing Flexis that are still around...

Rodney's DODGE DAYTONA Flexi-1 with Hot Wing and Super 16D power.

My PORSCHE Flexi-1 also a S16D motor.

The last of the bunch, Rodney's Tiger themed Monte Carlo with Flexi-1 chassis and S16d motor.

These cars are all former racecars that have out lasted their competitive period but not their fun appeal. Some may even recognize a few of these racecars as the ones they ran against...and beat or lost to ?

These older Flexis are still capable of running some fast laps and aren't as "dear" as some other vintage slot cars, and are easy to acquire, tune and maintain.

Wow it's time a flexi one is considered vintage.

Joseph Migliaccio. Karma it's a wonderful thing.

Some people are like Slinkies... they're really good for nothing... but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.
