I've asked few questions here about building drag track, so have few videos of how it's come out so far.

Don't have enough room for a scale eight, so I went with the length of a scale 1/32, 20.6 ft.

Currently have the index set to a slow 1 second because short shutdown, with track voltage 8-10 volts.

Greetings Brent!

Your drag strip looks awesome!

To me, it looks as though you can run 1/24 scale cars too!

Very nice job!

Thanks for sharing.

Phil; Here's the one I built some time ago. It is built in 8 sections, 18 inches wide by 8 feet long. 3/4 MDF track surface, 1x4 framing. The sections connected through a tongue and pocket system. One of the tongues can be seen in the lower left of the top photo. It could be set up or torn down in about 15 minutes

I hosted the Friday night home set group I raced with at the time on a rotating basis. Eventually I left that group and put the track up for sale. Unfortunately, a person only wanted the Track Mate timing off the track, so the rest went into the garbage.

Very nice, Dave! How long was the distance between start and finish lines?

The timed section on my track was 41 feet, 1/4 mile in 1/32nd or 1000 feet in 1/24th. The speed traps were 3 feet. Start line was 20 inches from the end of the track, with just past 21 feet of shut down. There was a capture box on the last section built from 1/4 inch marine plywood to catch cars that ran out the back of the shut down. The sections were built so that any combination of sections could be used. Electrical connections were made using trailer wiring connectors. That way the track could be set up as a shorter track to fit constrained areas.

Can you give more info/pics on capture box.
We have limited space in shutdown area.

I do not have any. The box was roughly 12 inches high and the width of the track. It was about 2 feet deep and filled with pieces of flannel bed cover. Most lexan cars stopped before getting there, the hardbodies would run into it at a pretty low speed. It was there to keep cars from running off the end.
