Hi Paul,

I just started racing slot cars about 3 months ago with MHOSA. We race HO 1/64th scale 3ohm and 6ohm motors with level 10 magnets. I recently bought equipment so I have an OS3 All Pro controller, so if you could lend me a car then I could meet up with you guys. Could you tell me exactly what kind of cars your club races? I would be interested in finding more information about them. I live not too far from RJ's and have been wanting to check it out, this seems like the perfect opportunity to do that. Also, how much is the entry fee for these races? I hope you have a great weekend.

Thanks,

Adam

Hi Adam,

We are racing 1/24th scratch built slot cars. I always have loaner cars available. I'm not familiar with your controller so I'm not sure it will work with our motors. I do have a controller available to loan out too. The entry fee is $10. Hope to see you there, we welcome new racers.

Note the date change for the Retro races.

If Paul offers you a loaner car, take it. You will see his cars are some of the best prepared cars there (and reliable)!

Sorry about the nerf. "Sorry? Sorry? There's no apologizing in slot car racing!"

Besides, where would I even begin?   I should probably start with my wife ...

The only thing I know about slot cars is if I had a good time when I leave the building! I can count the times I didn't on one two three hands!

That all sounds good to me. Sounds like I will need the controller as well according to one of your members. I should be able to make it, and may be able to bring a friend if you would have a car and controller for him as well.

The OS3 will not be compatible with our cars.

Thanks for clarifying.

Edit: Okay I see the date is now the 26th, that actually works out because I'm trying to go to the HOPRA group on the 2/19 too.

That's good to know that Paul has good loaner cars. Always makes it more fun to have a competitive level car. I look forward to trying out your type of slot cars. I've only done HO / 64th scale slot car racing up until this point. I appreciate you guys letting me use your equipment to check it out.

Adam, my experience has been that HO racers adapt to 1/24 slot cars way better than big slot car racers adapt to HO. Look forward to meeting you.

I would imagine the banking of the corners makes a big difference, most of our tracks are completely flat. And if it's speed that's the issue, that definitely won't be a problem for me. I just tried CHOPRA / HOPRA last weekend. I raced CMPM / Poly Mods which go about 30-40mph in real speed at 1/64th scale, which evidently is upwards of 700mph in real scale. Speaking of which, so you guys normally race on the 3rd Saturday of the month? It actually worked out well that you rescheduled this month, as CHOPRA also does the 3rd Saturday of the month. I'm going to have to see if possibly they can do the 2nd or 4th Saturday instead so I can continue to attend both. They haven't scheduled next month yet.

How many total classes do you guys race? And how much are the cars roughly each? This hobby gets expensive quick.
