What's going on with Alpha?

I recall that Paul had a heart attack and spent some time in the hospital. Don't know what happened after that. Sorry.

As I recall Paul's heart attack was two or three years ago. I have no Idea how his health is now. Hopefully this is not a big deal and Alpha will get back to normal in short order.

I've heard Paul's health has been a bit up and down lately.

I sent 11 armatures to Alpha on Wednesday, Feb 16, for reconditioning and balance. I will let everyone know when I receive these back.
I must admit a bit of trepidation with the online store not currently "online."

I have a bunch of early ‘70s open arms that need rework/refresh. I’m willing to wait until later this year to have that done – I had intended to send them to Alpha. Should their current situation not change, where else could I send them? Some have corrosion on the stacks, and a bit on the shafts. Approximately half would just be normal clean, balance, cut. I haven’t had this type of work done since 1990-‘95.
Thanks for any information.

I have had good luck with Balance by Beuf and ProSlot.

I'm glad for their return. I would only encourage my friends at Alpha to post on their website when they are going on vacation, taking a break or whatever! We all need a break sometimes...
Alpha always has been and continues to be my "go to" place for armature service as well as for high quality hubs and great quality donuts.
To all the folks at Alpha, thank you for your great service.

I wish Paul nothing but the best, but man are we going to miss those Alpha tires.
Or is there a chance someone may continue the company?

I only heard about it through my friend, Mark Rosenwinkel, who was up at Lucky Bob's in Milwaukee last Saturday, racing HO cars.
We raced today and the subject got brought up but neither him or Michael Iga had heard about any potential buyers.
I only posted as Paul isn't a Slotblogger, so I didn't expect an announcement here, from him and I didn't want anyone to send him arms to rebalance, that he most likely wouldn't do.

I have heard conflicting stories about Alpha and whether it's closed or not, all from credible sources.
Until there's a formal announcement by Paul, these postings should be considered conjecture.

Phil,
Do you want me to italicize and underline "might" in my post? LOL.

Just talked to Paul.
He hasn't retired or died. Still plugging away was his words.
