The Doghouse gang has been itching for a good race. And for February, we chose to again run the JK Indy cars. We love the way they handle; we love the way they look. They're just plain fun.

Everybody was getting into the fun on this day, too. We had a great turnout.

Yes, that actually is Don "The Man/The Myth" Weaver joining us for this Saturday showdown. Don, however, doesn't race anymore. He was there to give us a little verbal abuse and Turn marshal "his"  corner of the track. All kidding aside, it was great to have Don back with us for the day. He moved out of town several months ago.

Much the same can be said for Marty, aka Dr. C. Marty and his lovely wife moved toward the Upstate of South Carolina, leaving the Midlands behind. Marty rarely has the opportunity to run with us when we gather each Thursday evening for mostly bench-racing. It was great to have Marty on the track with us again.

We had a total of eight competitors on this day; nine cars, since Don brought his stuff to practice a bit before the race began. The full lineup of cars...

As always, the racing was fun -- and extremely fast. We laid a lot of rubber on the track and, when it was over, we had our results:

While it was certainly a good day for all of the racers, "SlowBeas" was slightly faster on this day, with "Fast Richard" right behind him, followed by "Dr. C."

The winning cars...

The JK Indy (wide) is a great car. We had track records set in virtually every heat. The car is simple, similar in concept to the Cheetah, and runs like a beast. The winning car...

So, we put a wrap on the February 2022 race. As it is with each gathering, we all had a blast. It was great to have Don and Marty back, and to have newcomer Connor join us once again. He's developing his skill and, as you can see by his lap totals, it won't be long before we regret asking him to join us. :D

No date has been set yet for our next weekend race, nor a determination of the class we will run. Regardless, we know one thing is for sure: we'll have a great time at The Doghouse. Come join us.

Thanks, Pablo! Wish you could race with us. Maybe we'll run into you at a SERRA revival event soon.
