Seven slot-heads showed up to race a Triathlon at Electron Raceway on 1/13/20. This event included the final running of the LeMans Trials, a mixed race and GT1 (I have updated the LeMans Trials recap post to reflect the final standings and images of the winners. See the post http://slotblog.net/...recap/?p=768312

A few computer glitches and operator failures resulted in restarts of the mixed race but it all finally settled down to a fun evening.

Mixed Race

The first heat featured three of the top four seeds. Bob, James and Rich finished the heat within a few sections of one another. The heats rolled on and racing was quite close. Going into the final heat it was Bob, Rich and James with 68.3, 67.4 and 67.3 laps respectively. James turned it on in the final heat to overtake both Rich and Bob for the win. Bob was second and Rich third.

Bob ran the most consistent race with the quickest car to win the GT1 easily with 96.7 laps. James and Rich battled it out for the second spot on the podium, but in the end James prevailed with 93.8 laps. Rich finished third, a full two laps behind James. Joe was certainly in the mix for a podium finish, but a poor first heat and a few unforced errors put him out of contention.
