I just talked to Jim and we got the track and date.

The question is, will we be allowed to race by state and local officials?

I will let you know as soon as we know what the deal is and it might be short notice. The earliest date we would know if we can race would be the 22nd. I know that this is short notice, but it is out of my hands. So get ready and keep an eye out here for new info as it becomes available.

August 1st is a great day for a race in SoCal, I spent a few birthdays at races on CA in the olden-day. One I went outside at Speed & Sport to get a breath of air with no cigarette smoke, glue and sweat, I came back inside coated with soot & dirt as there was a smog alert. in honor of my birthday one of the guys dumped a bucket of water over my head.

have fun if you race, don't anyone serve drinks or you'll be shut down as a bar.

The SCRRA with the upcoming Summer Western Classic will be under an even shorter notice with the 22nd California guideline date. If Newsome rescinds the restrictions on businesses such as BPR we'll have 2 days to get ready for the race on the weekend of the 24-26th.

Personally, I don't think when the 22nd rolls around we'll get any definitive statement one way or the other from the California authorities and if that is the case the SWC will be cancelled.  Hopefully, on the 22nd, the coronavirus cases will have diminished to a point where California can announce that businesses that operate indoors can open up again and we'll be on.  We'll wait and see....

  Bill,

No, I've just been watching Newsome and his announcements.  I'll certainly keep an eye on that site as we get closer to the 22nd. Thanks!

   Jason,

Yes, that's what I saw on the 1st. A 3 week closure for indoor Family Entertainment.  We'll keep our fingers crossed here for a reversal of the closures on the 22nd.

Newsom just shut down indoor gyms, indoor churches, indoor hair salons, indoor barbershops til further notice in a large majority of CA, LA, Riverside, San Bernardino, and orange counties were on that list. He didnt even give a set number of weeks. I seriously doubt there will be any racing for awhile.

Things were going well, and then everyone got too relax and careless. Especially the young adults.
They are saying 1 out off 100 people are infected.

sorry guys, this is a real mess for all of us. I don't have a track to race at so got ready to fish but that isn't going to happen right now so on to other things. I'm clearing a path to my smoker and my weber genisis grill so look forward to babybacks smoked and finished on the grill.

how many of you parboil ribs in chicken broth before finshing? it sure sucks the grunge out of the pork and does not leave them tasting like chicken.

Some lives may not.

I'll race in my mind if someone can show me a typical car being raced that day. I have replayed many a race from the old days in my near photographic memory, on red's, blues, orange and revell tracks. I could even drive MGP tracks blindfolded using certain songs as timing devices at Tanners in Scottsdale.

Have fun guys!

Jesse
