Isaac, It's not any Associated slot car body like I've ever had or seen. I have no idea whose it is.

Looks like a parts car, not a factory build of any kind.    I sent that auction to one of the guys on the forum that likes Dynamic stuff.  It has one of the factory Dynamic rtr tongues.    He may add what he knows about it.

Did Associated even sell bodies in that era?

Steve O'Keefe doesn't show Associated in his extensive vintage body listing.

And the motor, of course, isn't a 36D, like listed.

Don’t think they made bodies until much later.

All Dynamic car, the Ferrari 330P3 kit that used a Lancer body. It came in this plastic box.The rear wheels have been replaced with silicone's but other than the condition I was happy to get it.

This kit has a sweet spot for me as it was the first production slot car that handle well. Interesting I also changed my 1967 car to silicone's.

Matt is correct, it shares the same one piece front axle carrier as the Renegade.

...and you are correct Mike, It came with a 26D EBD. But even Dynamic got it wrong. The box art clearly shows a 36D can drive, same as the Renegade. I looked at the box art for years before I spotted it.

The value here are the special kit parts like the aluminum spur gear, front wheels and the front axle carrier. Even the rear axle is  asymmetrical and hard to find. Hopefully the motor is good and it does have its Dynamic sticker.

Would love to find a set of those number one decals, would be happy to trade if any body has any.

Nice one; I did notice this when it came up, then forgot about it!

Was not aware of this at the time, but like you, Martin, a good friend here had that as his first "serious" slot car and has fond memories of it - I think he even kept at least part of it...

I found a junked version on ebay a few years ago... I think we've talked about this one Martin, and exchanged some photocopies...

We probably all have a soft spot for Dynamic kit cars. Its what I would call a "gateway slot car".

Easy to adapt and work pretty darn good as designed.

IIRC, you brought up the 36D on the box art, before.

Looking at it,the guide depiction is less than great.

There must of been someone with a miniskirt and go-go boots, wandering around the graphic arts studio, that day.

I did, and never got a response or possible reason for the wrong art. Your answer sounds plausible to me :laugh2:
