Fellas,

We'll also take a look at the annual 12Hrs. of Sebring and some of the cars, in our case slot cars that took part in the events.

Fellas,

Some pics from our March Meet, theme being The SEBRING Races...

We'll start off with some of Mikey's HO sporty cars that were always in the field at the Sebring events over the years...we're trying to get Mikey to number some of them and tape up the headlights, buts it's an uphill battle !  I think that blue Mustang should be first.

Next up are Rodney's 1/24 racers that are also SEBRING Race candidates...many of which are recent builds.  The baby blue Cobra and the Ford GT for example. Notice a trend there, I wonder why ?

The Ford GT and the green Aston Martin are two of my favorites from Rodney's stable.

Finally some of my builds that have been posted here before.  Also a rather "well traveled" Chaparral 2D that some may recognize from the past...which by the way took to the BIG TRACK at The Race Place Thursday evening.

Another "first time out on the big track" car was my 1/32 scale Cobra GT which performed surprisingly well.

Pete, what's beneath the two Dubro Vette bodies beside  the Chaparral? I first saw the Dubro Vette body in '67 or '68 up in Maine. I believe they were then being pulled using colored plastics painted silver on the inside. (blue, pink, gold. etc.)

Bill,

Both of those Vettes have Dynamic chassis under them, the blue car has a big can and the red one a newer 16D. Both were clear bodies that I painted up years ago...the blue car was done in the '90's while the red car in the mid 2000's.

I'll try to post some pics of the chassis...

Pete, thanks for the photos. Those pans added to the Dynamic cast pieces make a simple, but great chassis. I'll have to check my Dynamic parts to see what I have. I do have a couple of the 1/24 Eurotoys like Rodney used on the Porsche. I recall in the pre-retro days, BPR used this chassis with stock Parma 16D motors & retro bodies for a special monthly class. Those races were posted on OWH before Slotblog existed..

Pete, great night recap and photo journalism!  The pictures really POP!

Bill, you have to see Pete's blue vette (which is also his avatar) up close...the detail is amazing and as documented before, the exhaust pipes are part of the body mounting system and tied to the tongue.  It is something I could never come up with in 400 years!

Rodney's cars are awesome as well -- and plentiful!  His construction techniques really add spice to his builds.  He brought along an older I15 wing car that was just totally cool.

I am more or less out of the bigger car picture, but in case any of you happen to be on FaceBook I posted a neat 1/32 Parma kit I picked up today...incomplete, alas.  Not sure what chassis belongs under the gorgeous McLaren.  The picture is on my phone, I'll add it here...

Flexiwomp?

Cool STUFF!

Mikey
