HI all,

I'm looking to open a shop in California. I'm looking for an eight-lane track. 18' x 35' would be about my max footprint.

Thanks,

Ryan

Then I suppose I'd have to stock trains in the shop, too  :D

Good luck on your track! It shouldn't be too hard to find one.

Never heard of the loop. Very interesting.

I'm excited for you Ryan!

Best of luck in your search and hope you'll share photos of the track you acquire,  as well as the building storefront progress - please.

Ok , this twigged a memory. When I was a kid my mom used to say  “ near Tehachapi on the Cucamonga line “ if she didn’t know where someplace was. I had no clue what it meant at the time and just now learned that Tehachapi exists. What about the Cucamonga Line? Help a guy out here! Lol

There’s definitely a major train line that runs through here but I don’t know if that’s what it’s called. We just moved here last year

I believe that is referenced by Warner Bros cartoons---Bugs Bunny -- announcing the train is do in from LA, San Bernardino, and "Rancho Cucamonga"!!  Because the long time voice for Bugs loved how it sounded!! It became part of our jargon in the 50's!!

The Jack Benny Radio Show.  As you recall, Mel Blanc was a cast member on the show.  Whenever Jack traveled by train, which was pretty often in the era, Mel would perform, a fan favorite, his train announcer routine which would always include, Rancho Cucamonga.

Interesting I remember going to Palmdale in the late 1980's (about 50 south of Tehachapi) . The the train tracks ran behind the local local diner. There was a roulette wheel on the wall behind the counter; when a train when by, the counter man would spin the wheel; if  your seat number came up your meal was  free.
