Looks like the track that was in Abbeville SC. If so I only ran on it a few times but it was a fun track and in fine shape then.

A later edit.

I am not so sure that is the Abbeville track but I don't know for sure. I think I only saw it twice and who knows.

I’m almost 100% we had this track at Upstate until 2016. It was sold and I’m told, it was races at an area flea market. I’m not sure where it went from there but I do recognize the particulars of the track.

I messaged questions yesterday about the track with no response.
Did you message through Ebay?
Doesn't it look like one of the turns has water damage?

Does the straight look to have a mild hump? 15" past the lead-on.

The current owner(s) are really nice folks and as far as I can tell, not engaged with the slot racing hobby/sport. They purchased the track as an attraction for use at the flea market. I’m not sure where it has been the last couple of years but I spoke with them and it’s the same couple.
It appears it was stored with the legs still attached.
I feel they would be honest about the condition of the track as far as they understand it.

Michael,

Do you have another way I can reach out to them or are you able to share my info with them? Ebay doesn't seem to be working for me.
Thank you

That looks like one of my tracks, especially given the age of it. Notice the small L brackets that hold the sidewalls on, and plywood triangular legs and the sidewalls that go all the way around inside and outside of the track. And the double tongue and groove joints. I think I spotted one of my stamps on one section.

That water damage looks bad, would need to see how bad the top of that section is. Should be repairable though.

if it's just that 1 small section it should be easy enough to make a new one. if I had a big enough place to put it I'd be making shipping arrangements by now

If that's an actual picture of the Abbeville track then it's an old one as Berni had put a clear plexiglass border on the outside of the donut to improve visiblity.  You are correct Steve, the Abbeville track was one of your early ones and was owned by Jeff Bechtel at one time.  Also, the track is actually a Grand Stand where the back straight is elevated about 12" above the front straight after the deadman all the way through the donut.  This may be the reason for the "dip" mentioned by Scott.

Fun track to drive...

The tracks I called Grandstands were called that because the main straight overlapped the back straightaway by 16 " or so. This made the track narrower but was not as difficult to marshal as a full overlap hillclimb. But this one is a true Kingelman without an overlap. At a quick glance it looks like someone decided to make the corner inside the bank faster by raising it up. Or for some reason they lowered the bank, hence the hump. When this track was built, the top of the sidewall on the outside of the corner inside the bank matched the top of the sidewall on the inside of the bank. If they came out close enough, I would screw the sidewalls together there to stiffen the assembly.

I dont believe thats the track from Abbeville. The straights were stacked on top of each other. Heres a link to a SERRA race report that has good picture of it. Its about 20 posts down.

The track at Don Berni's Slots of Fun in Abbeville had the top straight almost directly over the bottom one.  I know because I cut myself on a flourscent light fixture mounted under the top straight marshalling a car.  After looking at this part of the track again this is not a picture of Berni's track.

Do you think the hump can be worked out?

I've seen a handful of track owners attempt to "improve" a track by lifting a corner here or there and it seems like it rarely works out well for the long haul.

It is definitely the track from Abbeville. I spoke to the seller and it is the same couple that picked up the track from Upstate. So that part of the puzzle is solved. The raised corner and water damage I can’t answer for sure.

Obviously not the same track. I have thousands of laps on the track from Abbeville, I know the track very well.

I believe the seller has used a picture of a different track - maybe he didn't have one of the actual track he is trying to sell and this one looked similar to him, not being a slot car racer.   Regarless, James is right - the picture is NOT the Abbeville track

Both tracks pictured have one thing in common I like very much.

Almost never a car off under the bridge.   :)
