What: Retro Races on the 90' Flat Hillclimb

JK Spec, F1, and Can-Am using IRRA rules

When: November 1, 2008. Doors will open for practice Saturday morning at 8 AM. Tech for the first race (JK Spec) starts at 10 AM. That race will start 15 minutes after tech is completed. Tech for the next class will start 30 minutes after previous race completion. The second race is for the F1 class, and the third race is for the Can-Am class.

Where: FastLane Raceway is located in the SE corner of the food court at the Washington Square Mall in Evansville, IN. Call for directions or information after 2:30 PM.
phone: (812) 430-8818

website: FastLane Raceways

Why: It's fun! The track was built in the '60s, literally saved from a burn pile, and resurrected last fall. It provides a serious driving challenge with lap times in the low 4 second range. This event is our celebration of FastLane Raceway's first year. Entry fees will be $15 per class. There will be no charge for practice time on Friday or Saturday for race participants.

Race Procedures: Because of the unique facility and track configurations, conventional turn marshalling is not practical. We will use track calls, with interrupted power & timing when a car de-slots. On the third de-slot within a heat for a single racer, that car is removed. When the next de-slot occurs, the removed car is returned to the track. If that racer de-slots again during that heat, his car is removed, until the next track call. This procedure has produced good close racing, which is a lot of fun. We will run 3 minute heats with initial lane assignments by random computer selection.
