Mid-America Raceway and Hobbies in Downers Grove, IL, is proud to announce their participation in the Parma Flexi Championship Series 2012 season.
Rules and information for the Parma Flexi Championship Series 2012 are HERE.
Initial classes being run by Mid-America for the series will be the 4” Stock Car and the 4” NASCAR Boxstock. If there is sufficient interest, we will consider adding other classes.
A warm-up race for the Parma Flexi Championship Races at Mid-America will be Saturday, May 26, 2012. Tech will open at 5:30 PM and close at 6:00 PM.
Experienced drivers are asked to enter the 4” Stock Car Class leaving 4” NASCAR Boxstock for beginner drivers only. If you are planning to race in 4" NASCAR Boxstock, please read the rules that relate to the "Rookie of the Year" award. You must declare your intent to run for ROTY and abide by the rules of the ROTY program. Mid-America Raceway and Hobbies reserves the right to limit participation in the ROTY program to true "Rookie" racers.
The first regular season Parma Flexi Championship Series points race will be June 30 and points races will be held on the last Saturday of each month until September 29, 2012. Tech will open at 5:30 PM and close at 6:00 PM on series race nights with racing beginning immediately following tech.
If there are eight or more entries in either class, we will run individual races for each class. The 4” NASCAR Boxstock races will be run first if separate races are held.
If there are less than eight entries in each class both classes will be run together in “round robin” fashion. Winners for each class will be determined by the finishing order within that class.
Series races will be run on the Gerding G12 King unless notified otherwise at least a month in advance.
When “official” races begin (after June 1, 2012) there must be no less than five entries per class, with valid series membership cards, for that race to count for points.
The Flexi Championship Series races will be held in place of the 4” NASCAR Group 10 weekly races, which will not be held on Flexi Championship Series race nights. All other Saturday night race classes (i.e. Hardbody FCR) will be held after the conclusion of the Flexi Championship Series races. In other words, the FCS races will be the first races held on the Saturday Night race program.
When regular points races begin, you must present a valid Parma Flexi Championship Series 2012 membership card at tech. This is a separate membership from the Parma FCR Series. There will be Flexi Championship Series membership forms at the warm-up race; you are responsible for mailing the form with your annual dues to the National Director yourself.
Racers who present cars and pass tech that are not members of the Parma Flexi Championship Series may race but cannot earn points toward the Regional Championship or qualify for the Nationals until they become members. Points will be awarded for events only where the driver is a series member in good standing as of the date of the race.
Each car presented at tech must pass tech before tech closes; cars that do not pass tech will not participate in the races, no exceptions. It is your responsibility to read and be familiar with the Flexi Championship Series rules and to build your car so it will pass tech.
Official announcements regarding Flexi Championship Races at Mid-America will be posted both within the raceway (corkboard) and on the Mid-America Raceway and Hobbies Facebook page. This includes results, cancellations and re-scheduling of racing events. Overall Standings will be published on the series website (www.flexiseries.com).
