The concept of the Celebration of the Authentic Car was developed three years ago and you probably have a good idea why its realization was postponed until 2022.
As stated in the attached flyer, CotAC is a 'different type of car show,' one that wants to give authentic, original (restored or not), largely pre-war vehicles a show of their own. It is also being held to benefit the volunteer-run, non-profit Southeastern Railway Museum, which is ‘Georgia’s Official Transportation Museum’ by act of the state legislature.
Please consider bringing one or more qualifying vehicles to CotAC. The criteria is visually-unmodified, original style drivetrain, 1948 and earlier cars, trucks, and motorcycles. We’d love for this to become an annual event, but minimal support for the initial show may prevent us from achieving that goal.
Please forward this email to everyone you know who has an interest in collector cars and automotive history. Friends, neighbors, relatives, members of car and other clubs you belong to, fellow church members, etc. Attendees to this show will see cars at this that they will rarely see anywhere else.
While the CotAC event was designed to require minimal staffing, we still could use a few more volunteers to assist with registration, parking, tallying the People’s Choice ballots, etc. If you’d be willing to help out during this one-day event, please contact me using the info below.
Since the Southeastern Chapter of the Antique Automobile Club of America voluntarily dissolved a number of years ago, there hasn’t been a car show in the greater Atlanta area exclusively for authentic, unmodified cars and we’d like to change that. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
Hope you see you, with or without a CotAC eligible vehicle, on May 21!
