Anybody may help to identify the chassis and the motor in the pictures? Thanks for the help!

Can't see the tag on the motor but, it's a early 80's G-27 or,pro G-7(?). I've seen many like that but, never chromium. I'd love to have one! I used to race 2ond hand ones (but either hand cut or Parma centre sections) with G-12's or G-20's. Wing cars, of course.
If you want to get rid of it, can I be first in line?

The motor is a mura with an X-12 arm. So my guess is mid to late 80's early 90's.

is that chassis brass with plating, or is it steel?

Cool looking chassis.

How about a bottom view?

Does the rear axle ride in a tube or in pillow blocks?

I have two chassis' with steel pans and "L" arm fronts. They are vintage mid 70's open chassis.

Looks like an axle tube with some nicely bent piano wire supporting.

Looking at the chassis a little closer, there is a lot of nice wire bending on that chassis/nice details.

I'm looking forward to seeing a bottom view.

Nice, but I don't recognize the builder, so it's probably one of a kind.

Plated brass split pans (maybe Parma) and what looks like a plated modified production steel center (Parma?), plated after construction...unusual because plated steel centers were not around.

It's curious that the pin tubes stop short of the edge of the pans and the fact that there are reliefs for the .032 wire coming out of the plumber rail tubes onto the pans, which was common for Lee Gilbert, Tony P, and other custom builders, like me.  :D

Fancy wire bending around each end of the axle tube and I too would like to see the bottom to see whether the upright rails are imbedded in the center section.

If they are it would place it just before we quit doing all that silly stuff with a tube and went to pillow blocks, early '80's.

Initially I chopped up 2 guide holders like the Parma on this chassis to make the pillow blocks...boring.  :laugh2:

I miss those Slick-7 beryllium uprights!
Earlier than the 90's . Jahn L. Won the nats 3 years running 84-86(?) Running similar chassis's. By 87-88 (?) EDM had taken over. Mike S, you probably know better than me. I know Philippe wrote a article about this. I made several copies so I could lose more than one.

Motor is probably from a Racer Products chassis, They used blue C-cans with red endbells in their RTRs.

After looking at it enlarged, I'm pretty sure it's a Parma centre section with Parma split bat pans. If I can find it, I'll post it. It's here, with 126 sets of keys,15 bank cards, etc. Probably with my clue.

Thank you very much to everyone for the really interesting info you are giving me. I live in Italy and I found the chassis near my home, in Turin. Do you think it has been built in Europe or in US? I will post more photo later today when I will come back home from work... Again, thanks a lot!

What I can tell you about the motor is that the X12 armature seems "short" inside the magnets...

It is also surprising me the fact that it has been chromed after it has been welded... When I saw it completely chromed, I thought it was a large production chassis

The split pans are different shaped than the Parma split pans shown above. They look more like Parma wide finger pans that were split by the customer.

Hard to tell if this chassis was built in the US. Italy. or elsewhere. Generally speaking, scratchbuilt chassis here in the US were not plated with something such as nickel or chrome as the final step. In other words, they were usually run with the raw metal. There are exceptions to everything.

Ok, clear.... What about the production period? Late 70s? 80s? Beginning of 90s?

With the nice wire bending, I doubt it's a production chassis.

If it was, one that nice would certainly be remembered by someone here on Slotblog.

My guess is that the builder either worked in a plating shop, or knew someone who did.

Your car is built from parts from two different era's.

The chassis is late 70's, early 80's.

I built a chassis using that center, in early '82, shortly after I got back into slot racing.

I was aware it was a semi-obsolete piece.

The motor is a Mura, apparently built for Racer Products.

Racer Products was primarily an RTR car company whose original stamped car design was successfully challenged by Parma as violating their 1985(?) Flexi-kar patent.

That would probably put it at late 80's, early 90's.

Ok, this means that probably the motor is not coherent with the chassis? If so, is it possible that the car has been "updated" at a certain point replacing the motor? What could be a correct motor for the chassis?

Either a Mura motor with a 2 hole can or that next generation motor, but a normal Mura, with a black can and a yellow endbell.

To be a "legal" car, it would have a G27 or G7 armature.

IOW, that style of chassis was not legal for Int 15.

How about a bottom pic?

I will make other pictures as soon as I will come back home. Is it worth to try to replace the motor so to have again the car in "original" shape?
