Today I was informed that we lost our friend Pete Linszky. The news was shocking and breaks my heart…
Please say a prayer for Pete and I am standing by for any support that his wife Patti might need…

Doesn't look like it. I know his name from reading race and meeting reports over the years.
The problem was that the OP left the 'Z' out of Pete's surname... the correct spelling is Linszky. That's why my search came up empty.
Posting under the display name 'Pete L.' he's made almost 3,000 posts at Slotblog, having joined us in the asylum on Sept 2, 2006.

I only knew Pete through his postings on here. We exchanged several pleasurable postings and photos over the years. My condolences to Pete's family and friends.

Very sad. He was a really nice guy. Loved the old school stuff and especially Jail Door cars.

I am shocked and saddened to hear this news.
I was just with Pete about a month ago at The Race Place. Great guy to talk to about everything slot car related. He knew all the big players from back in the day.
We used to talk alot about Buzzy... and his quirky ways.
Pete was always full of knowledge... anything you wanted to know about building or repairing slot cars he had the answer.
I'm going to miss those Thursday nights at The Race Place...
RIP, my friend.

Indeed, Dave, RIP, Pistol Pete.
I'm still not sure what all I want to say yet. One thing I know for sure, he wouldn't want Thursday nights to end with him.
I'll be there on the 7th – Bill W. is having movie night, weather permitting. Days of Thunder. C'mon down if you're free and let's be groovy.

I recognize Dom and his son, you with hair and no stash, but who is the fellow to your left with the glasses, dark blue T-shirt and dungaree outer shirt?

I am beyond grief right now. This man was a slot car father to me.

Found some pictures of Pete at Buzzy's around 2006-2007...
This was a fun day.

Sorry for the bad spelling at the beginning of the post… Thanks to admin for cleaning it up…
Yes, Pete was a great guy. His wife Patti knows that we who are close by are here for anything needing tended to or just a coffee and a hug. Pete loved everything from race cars to slot cars. We’ll press on with our old stuff at The Race Place and keep Pete in our prayers…

I first met Pete at The Race Place. I saw an ad for a slot car swap meet, and went there with my son, about 25 years ago.
There was Pete with a few tables of vintage slot car parts and magazines. I talked to him for a while and made a purchase. Back then I had a few '60s Cox cars and would rent time on The Red Lightning to see how the old cars would run.
Then Pete started the C.A.R.S. Vintage Slot Car Club and we became friends. I have raced all types of slot cars with Pete, and I too enjoyed his wealth of knowledge of 1:1 vintage racing and vintage slot cars. He would tell me how much he enjoyed reading all of the old hot rod and racing magazines and books, as he really did study them and remembered it all in detail. And being a fellow Hungarian we understood each other's sense of humor and busting each other's chops.
Sad that he died too early, and I am sure that Pete would want the C.A.R.S. club to carry on in his memory. All of us that knew Pete learned so much, and he is truly missed.
