Thanks everybody for the help, and thanks especially to Bill who supplied the shell and chassis. I couldn't have been happier with this project :curtsey:

Glad you were pleased, but we've got to find 11 more feet! :)

For now, your Board of Advisors must turn their attention to the mess on Wall Street. Expect a bill to be finished by Tuesday, after we get a few billion ( direct grants) for slot racing! :laugh2:

He doesn't need help with the 11 feet problem I need help staying the 11 feet ahead of him! :o He is a great driver and has a fun time a the races. When other people get frustrated with the beginners causing wrecks he looked up at me (Me being 6'2" and him 5' nothing) just kidding Pablo :D and said this is great having the youngsters out racing with us and learning about the sport to keep it alive. He is truley a great competitor! :)

I ran a Flexi 1 when we first opened the track and was pleased with the performance of it  , actually I had the track record with it and moved over to the Scorpion and have kept dropping the record lower and lower :laugh2: , but Pablo's first trip out he was very impressive and could very well beat the record :o So please for the sake of all humanity do not help him any more :shok: Just kidding it keeps me on my toes

To keep a check on Pablo's races click on our website at DND Raceway Thanks.

Ron, did you know Jerry still has some of those things on his website for sale? I have your setup articles from SCB & the chassis, but no aluminum pans. :laugh2:

Is anyone using a Chettah 11?

Actually, I'd look at ordering some JK Spec frames and start racing the newest "oldest" form of commercial racing. But ANY class is fun with the right group of racers! :)

If I was racing winged flexi's, I would be trying a Cheeta 11 for sure.

With my limited experience with the C11. The more downforce- the better it likes it. I had an old GP body, Added a 1/2 tail outa .007 with double sided tape and picked up a tenth & a half. I have yet to try a wing body. I would go with a slippery one first and use the tail for downforce and trim as needed. ;) .

Ron, the C11 projects are coming soon, believe me. The Flexi Kar was a fun project that turned out WAY faster than I had thought it would. But hey, older track, older chassis, I wanted to try it. Jeff R certainly showed me older designs can work super. Once I started building the Flexi Kar using the chicky cookbook, I found Bill had done most of the hard work already in careful preps. ;) That chassis was a winner before it even arrived in my mailbox, I just assembled it right :)

Methinks DND Raceway will spawn some great new racers soon ! Once the young beginners pick up on some tricks and a work ethic, we will be sidelined :laugh2:

PS what is a "spec" frame " ?

The Cheeta 11 works good on our old King but we have a lot of new drivers crashing and burning  and the Cheeta 11 doesn't hold up to the abuse well.

Hi Jeff,

I have not run a C11 yet. What parts of the frame are not holding up well ?

Thanks Jeff. That California fish was caught on 6 lb test mono, barbless hook, plastic worm, and released.

I gotta go now, I'm building a C11 for the Enduro on Nov. 8  :friends:

Didn't care about thread drift. I know its probably fishing stuff, but really don't have any idea what 6 test mono or barbless hook means

Before Sano Dave explained the ARCO thing to me, my only experience with ARCO was gas stations as a kid. A friend of mine is a boat captain and has a 100 ton license and took me fishing. I just sat on the back of the boat as he motored around lake superior. We didn't catch anything and that is the extent of my fishing experience.

Hi Pablo,

I should have been more specific, here's the JK Spec frame as built by Mike Swiss for IRRA racing:

http://slotblog.net/...mp;#entry118011

And for an Enduro, I would go with with a Turbo and the steel pan and 1, maybe 2, more teeth on the ring gear. Easy driving and lower heat are a premium in long races.

O K
Pablo done it :D , He won with the setup every one helped him with. Congradulations to him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He had some stiff competition, (Less me, I had to run the track that night  ) He ran against some good racers and 4 first timers that first saw a slot car track that afternoon :o . Between trying to run fast to stay in the lead and also watch for wrecks he pulled it off with a victory. Flexi 1 is definetly capable of running with any chassis out there on our track :) .

Lookie here, Jeff R got him a cool slotblog avatar and all now :drinks:

I have 2 pablo theories:

1. The evolution of stamped steel frames was not so much of an actual improvement of designs, rather, it was a reflection of what worked better on newer, faster tracks.

2. Any frame can be made to work well if it is set up with the proper combination of straightness, stiffness, slop, controlled movement, and careful setup.

Just a theory. My learning curve continues ........ :D
