I received this terribly sad email tonight from Annette Poynor...
"Craig Correia had asked me when something happens to him to please let you and his slot car buddies know.
Craig passed away this morning, August 12, after a 10-year battle with cancer. He was 64. I visited him again just last week in South Lake Tahoe. He was so excited, he got his new printer up and running so he could print out his chassis designs. We lost another great slot car builder and racer (Team RID).
I will look for a nice picture of him; you probably have some. I know there is a good one from about 2015 where he was racing at our home in Riverside, attached.
Annette Poynor"
I probably do have some pics of Craig but will have to search later this weekend. If anyone else has a good pic or two of Craig, please post them.
I'm going to have a hard time getting to sleep tonight...

Remember, two wrongs don't make a right... but three lefts do! Only you're a block over and a block behind.

Aww, no. Craig was one of the nicest people you could ever hope to meet.
He picked up my spirits so many times with late night talks, and at a time I knew he was battling bigger problems of his own.
I will cherish the many chassis he built for me over the last twelve years.
Godspeed, Craig. You will be sorely missed.

More bad news... Like Eddie said, Craig was an awesome driver as well as an awesome builder and I remember several years ago, after not racing for a while with his illness, he came back to run to a couple of great podium finishes in big SCRRA races.
Rest in peace, my friend.

RIP, Craig.
I have many great memories of you from the Checkpoint races I attended. Very sad.

Craig was a BPR legend when I would attend. He always had a kind word for us "rookies" while on the track. Many fond memories.
Will miss him.

So sorry.
I met him at a Checkpoint race I made one year. Great guy.

Craig showed us what courage was all about. While battling severe health issues, Craig would continue to race and excel at BPR whenever he felt strong enough to do so.
