i've had this bookmarked for 6 months. I've never got around to giving them a try, but I thought someone else may want to.

As I suggested in a post on another thread, keeping the power on above the level of turning off the ESC eliminates the lag problem. A battery pack in the car could do that, but even more simply, just mod the controller so at least 3 volts of power remains on at all times. "Anti-brake" can probably do that. The only issue is that power to the car is never completely off, and dynamic brakes can't be engaged, at least in the typical analog setup used in most raceways. If cars can negotiate the track without ever needing to use brakes, then all is well and good. I've done this on a number of larger tracks, just not King layouts, with some of my wing cars or higher downforce GTP's. However, this is a limited solution that doesn't work for everyone.

Yes but that doesn't help drag cars. And if a tiny battery instead of a capacitor, works, you still have normal brakes.

I think it would breath a little life in the Talon 25 if it works. Completely eliminate lag.

I should add that I don't think the battery power will go to the motor. It will just power the speed controller. That's the hope, anyway.

Don't think I'd be using a soft case li-po to power the esc

There's a reason we use hard case li-po in RC and that's for crash protection. Should a soft case get punctured there's an easy risk of a fire. We also have sand buckets available to put out any fire

1. It needs a charger to look after it

2. You can't wire it to the guide side as that's over 12v in most cases and it blow the li-po

3. It it's plugged into the servo lead on the T25 it'll put 5.4v into the li-po which are rated as a max charge voltage of 4.2v

How about learning to drive a car with brushless power……is that too hard to do?
