I had one of these BITD, and have no idea what happened to it. Mine was painted green with a chrome stripe.
I am not a doctor, but I played one as a child with the girl next door.

Paul, yours looks to be in great shape. I bet the stripe is original too. No damage that I can see. Just 3 wheels on your wagon. Do you have a stash of odd ball wheels to look for a match?
Looking again I do see one split in the rear, but an easy fix I reckon.

While I haven't seen this one before either, it must have been popular enough that Caveman Bodeez has a repro body.

Bill,
Its so popular a caveman can do it. Or something like that
.....and there are quite a few chassis and original bodies that come up for sale.
I have this one that was converted to a Go-Kart.
This is as I found it, except I added the driver (Rat Salt) and the skull chin fairing.

My original Avenger, as found on ebay. Curiously, the front tires are by GRC (the company that made the Spitfire): they're the Gardena Rubber Company, so only logical that they first made tires.
It wasn't really known at the time - they never ran any ads in the period mags - but a few have popped up over the years and then a whole batch of bodies and chassis came up about 10 years ago, hence it's become very popular as an affordable Thingie!
