November's monthly D3 Hardbody races at Buena Park Raceway had a good turnout of racers.
The first race was for GTPs. Jim Lane won with Hector Gonzalez 2nd and Phil Nyland 3rd. The "Racer Handicap" podium had Bob Ahulii 1st, Michael Kale 2nd and Alex Dubrowsky 3rd. We changed the format of the two podiums starting with races today. From now on, the "Racer's Handicap" podium will not include any of the regular race podium finishers. This new format will give more racers a chance at the podium.
The second race of the day was a Mixed race. We decided to split this race into two races. The first Mixed race had 7 entrees. Mill Conroy won with Phil Nyland 2nd and Keith Tanaka 3rd. Mill set a new total lap record for the Can Am class with 262 laps (old record was 261 laps by Hector Gonzalez and Mill) driving a McLaren M8B built by Hector Gonzalez (same car that Gonzo and Mill set the previous record). The Second Mixed race was won by Ken Dylke with Bob Ahulii 2nd and Russell Van Wyck 3rd. The "Racer's Handicap" podium had Paul Kabot 1st, Ken Dylke 2nd and Russell Van Wyck 3rd.
