Just as an update.. I was able to get my hands on a difalco hd30 281. I would have maybe went with a Carsteen but I would have liked to try one first. Also I'm not racing where I felt like I wanted to spend the 800+ on it (not saying it isn't worth it, but for what I do it's out of my budget).
couple of notes
1) I went for about 1 and 1/2 hours and got it dialed in I believe pretty nicely
2) Even though Jim told me just to get the 113 ohm network I first tried the 78 ohm and yes, for even X12 cars (for me) it was too sensitive.. I had sensitivity down to like 1. I already have the 113 ohm and will try it this week. That said I do have some G27 and G7 cars so it wasn't wasted.
3) I tried the ESP a few times and yeeeeeah, it makes the brakes intense. I don't think I will use this but will try it some more. In my case I ended up stopping and then powering on too much in the corners.. I'm not used to running heavy brakes so I don't know if I should continue to really work on this or not. Impressive if you want all the brake.
4) for the money I think I'm right where I want to be!
5) I got the volt meter.. just nice to see where the track is power wise. installation only took about 30 minutes (from start to finish).
6) with TCS (traction control) I had it all the way up to 6 or 7 to help in the corners on an relatively flat track.
So far so good! On an X12 motor the heatsink didn't get that hot. Even with a mid america supra it wasn't hot.. I'm going to continue to play around with it but over all I'm liking it!
