No, not 16D but the good ones I showed.  The rectangular hole is the key to late 69 or early 1970.
Cobra chassis were sold for many years mostly to young kids buying off the rack.  Most of the later chassis that used the B-motor were hand made month by month as things changed based on what won as shown in the pages of Car Model and Model Car Science.

I tried to put in the chassis multiple motors: a champion, a 16d, a Mura A and a Mura B. The only one that fits is the Mura B (last picture). For all of the other motors it seems that the end ell is too short and brush holders are hitting the motor mount. Is this possible?

Michele, how far to take it is a tough question. I've looked at the final product and regretted going that far. Keep in mind, it's only factory original ONCE!!!
If you've followed the prices for that gene of car Team Nuttly, Phase III , Ferret and Cobra, Cobras are still relatively fair priced (kinda). Imo , if I'm not sure what to do or, how to do it,wich is usually the case,I just put it on the shelf and think about it. Which, isn't that bad because I'm still enjoying it without doing anything!!!
It's like," what is the difference between a light bulb and a pregnant woman"?

Not a cover car I was referring to, but a race report in "Model Car Science" where Mike Steube took 1st place in the 5th MCS/USRA road race with a "B" motor car.
MCS September 1969.

Actually Jairus, Mike won that race with a "Steube can" fitted with DZ magnets. That can was typically a cut down can to C-can size to fit the DZ magnets. The car in the photo is the second place Cukras car with a B motor:

Jairus,
I was referring to the "off the rack" car. I'll have to find the magazine but, I'm pretty sure it yours.

Slot Cars Magazine, issue #7.  That car had an "A" can Mura in it.

If anyone is looking for new Cobra anglewinder brackets, have your local raceway order them from REHCO. I've gotten them there in the past.
