Digging in the vast reserves at the LASCM's vault, I pulled this car which appears to be a used, but genuine factory RTR model. Thing is, it is as often in early to mid-1968 as manufacturers were scrambling to save their hides, a mix of parts from sister companies: a pretty standard Testor chassis, but with a Pactra motor and wheels, and a Lola T70 body I had never seen before. It appears derived from an earlier Pactra model but now sports front diaplane and rear spoiler, reworked engine detail and the driver is molded in. The driver's head is standard Pactra. The spur gear is like on some Testor cars, a Wilson product. There is a black die-cut cardboard insert taped under the driver. The card and the body have Pactra decals on them.
The former owner painted the inside of the headlights silver, we hope to buff that out, and a few odd details.
So there is quite a mix here, but the holes in the body have been machine punched, so this is no amateur job.
One more to add to the "mystery" list, and hopefully someone has a body, or an identical car?
