In Europe, there are also many vintage competitions organized by clubs, obviously in these cases the most beautiful body is awarded.

About half-way through the main event there was a "discussion" about a track call between the race director and a turn marshall about the car being on the floor. Something was said about a 2-lap penalty. Was a 2-lap penalty applied? To whom? Or was I hearing something different. A two-lap deduction in a race like this would have been a race-killer.

Yeah, you are correct, at some stage during the sixth bracket Andrea Noviello apparently made an Illegal 'Track Call' in that the car did Not land on the floor and according to the rules, that is a 2-lap Penalty. Was not a particularly devastating thing for him, he was running in 7th at the time on pretty much the same laps as 8th, which was where he eventually finished.

There is no concours in the ISRA categories. The TQ is awarded after qualifications.

Not sure if it is every year but I did spot this FB post by Brazil's Jae Young, the winner.

May be I'm wrong. It could be concours awards from sponsors..

The top qualifier plaques were different from the podium trophies.
Those (podium) were super-special, almost beyond belief.

Maurizio,
The material at that link was actually reposted here at Slotblog a couple weeks ago.

That trophy and Paul Gawronski's induction into the ISRA Hall of Fame is so well deserved! Without question Paul is one of the best slot car races of all time.
Congratulations, Paul!

Is there a summary of the race results?
Quite impressive effort by NSR team. Budrys seems dissapointed not winning ES24, but I say nothing to be sad about!
Running ES24 seem to be afforable now, without the GF complaining LOL with brushless.

12xx?
My experience with 12xx motors is they have higher power output... could be why team NSR was so fast.

Qow, those are crazy KV numbers, certainly high temp wire being used.
Usually KV like that are only 2s voltage rated on OTC drone motors.
That's almost 200k RPM!... probabaly why that extra ball bearing is on the end (if the ESC can run that fast).

They were supposedly running the high numeric ratios like they do with brushed motors.
They said guys were rewinding motors in the pits.
There was a rumor of guys putting in new ESCs for every time they raced.
Also a rumor an A Main guy in 1/32 apparently blew the ESC which then blew the controller fuse.
Just things I read on Facebook so I wouldn't take it as gospel.

Yeah, I'm Very surprised by the KV ratings as well !!
DoSlot will soon have 11,000 and 16,000 KV motors available, so obviously, their ESC is using different components to the UK unit, as theirs would not cope with motors of that spec.
Perhaps because of that is why people may have been changing ESCs because of heat, current draw, etc. I mean, heck, it's not like simply running an 'Open' motor on batteries. That ESC can only provide what the 'chosen' components allow!! And maybe, they were exceeding the inherent design spec. LOL.
I also heard of someone rewinding the motor 'in the pits,' which would be relatively easy, as no epoxy or balancing is required.
Would be great to actually get some factual data on what was use in both ES32 and ES24 regarding motor size, etc.
