Agreed! When I'm old enough (95+) and have retired to a one horse town, I'll get one of those gas fueled (preferably two stroke) tricycles to drive to the grocery store. But I'll replace the factory muffler with a "competition" one so that everyone in my small town will known that the hot rodding silver fox is out and about and scowl.
Plus I'll have an old wringer washer on my front porch in which I'll keep goldfish, a rusted hulk of some sort (Edsel, Corvair, Pinto, Monza?) in my yard and a goat to keep down the grass so I don't have to mow it.

I have had the same vision. I'll be sitting on some old log in front of wherever I end up, wondering what happened to me. I will have become used to the sound of electric cars, missing the burnouts we used to do in my neighborhood. I'll watch the kids zipping around on their electric scooters, knowing they will never experience the chance of being a neighborhood nuscience.

Similar to non meat eaters. The plant based burgers are designed to taste like a beef burger.
But do they? I haven't found one. But what really bothers me, is I have become so used to the black bean burgers, I don't miss the real beef ones. Is that what's happening to society? We are now accepting the substitutes as our first choice?
By the way, the Chicago Air and Water Show is this weekend. Over the last two days I have been treated to the sounds of vintage aircraft, with their radial engines. What a joyous noise!
