Trying to determine which is more preferable to buyers.

Lets just say there was a Buy it now Dynamic NOS drop arm for $10.95 plus shipping which would be around $5.40. Total $16.35

Or:

It was offered for $15.95 Buy it now with free domestic shipping.

If you were going to purchase which would you choose.

Thanks for your input.

Joe

I always consider the total price. Not included in your example is the sales tax which ebay also collects.

In sales with free shipping, you end up paying sales tax on the "free" shipping.

Didn't mention tax because it's a given.

No way to get around it on both ends as a buyer and seller.

Just the reality of the situation.

Just trying to get a feeling if free shipping is the deciding factor.

For example, two sellers offering the same item, one free shipping and the other not.

Both within a small price difference.

Do most just choose the free ship as an "Amazon" mind set.

most times, my starting bid price as a seller, would be high enough to include "free" shipping. however, most ebay shipping algorithyms are inaccurate, so if i didnt include "free" shipping, the buyer would have to pay the actual shipping cost. i have refunded buyers if ebays shipping was too high. interesting question.

I think the lower price would be the winner here, yes the final cost is basically the same but on first look it might seem that $15.95 is "too much" for the item whereas $10.95 would seem like a "good" price.  Virtually everyone that does eBay knows that there will be shipping and tax.

But you have to think about how the person that is offering free shipping how will it be shipped. In a bag or box safely or not so safe

Including free shipping adds a percieved value though in some cases.

A motor is only as fast as the chassis it's in.

Something about the word “ Free “ that catches attention.

It also eliminates the sellers that want to make a few extra bucks on shipping.
