Anyone have a few of these old Ferret or Racer Products Flexi chassis called 'Spider'? Similar in looks to the Flexi-1 by Parma.

Please let me know at your convenience.

Doc

You are talking about the two piece chassis held together with two, most of time, pop rivets.

If so I have some but too busy right now to hunt for them. Modelville Hobby Retro Marathon is coming up.

Thanks,   I sponsor local racing  and provide complete cars to the racers at no cost to the racers to get them started. I like to use the outdated stuff for these types of cars so We can keep it simple for the racers. Like I mentioned, I do NOT sell them. I give them away to the racers to promote the hobby locally. If you have Flexi One Chassis as well I would be interested in those as well. So please PM me when you get the time after your marathon with how many you have, cost, etc...... At your convenience sir......

Champion Turbos are easily available and better than the old ferret frames.

I am using older stuff as this is not for commercial raceway competition. We may use them on a commercial track but it is a private not for profit function. Locally it is for newbies, kids, and not "serious over the top race to the first corner and crash" type of participant. We run break outs and JK HAWK 25 Motors on reduced voltage in some instances depending on the participants. Please note this format includes the NSCSRA  One free crash per heat per participant. Crash a second time, you go to the "Pits" and turn marshal. Then you can return the next heat.  I do NOT make any money or payment of any kind at all running and sponsoring these races. So I appreciate your opinion on the Champion Chassis, maybe in the future if I can obtain about 24-30 of those chassis as a donation I might consider them.....  :)

Champion Astro or Turbo and JK Chettah frames are far more durable than the old 'bendomatic' ferrets.  Many see use as rentals instead of the whisperjets.   None of these have been used in serious competition in decades.

Larry, It is as I explained above it is NOT for so called "serious competition". Our customers/racers/participants receive the cars or chassis FREE of cost to them. We do not charge a track fee or race fee to the participants as this is a non profit venture.

I donate the items to them so they can participate in racing for fun. I am aware of the other chassis you mention as I have done this now foe 60 plus years. I have all of those chassis in my coalition as well. So if you have any you wish to donate, I welcome those as well.

Contact me on the PM here and let me know the particulars.  :)

Sounds like a retro-flexi class. How cool!

The Champion Turbo is the most common and durable of the early "Flexi"  chassis. It also handles well. Astro will work well too. Keep an eye on E-bay and you will often find them sold in lots of 5, 10 and more. Often a mix of outdated relics nobody races anymore.

although I appreciate the thought about the Champion chassis etc. We don't use them for this type of event. We only use the Ferret Chassis with specific parts assigned to that slot car. ALL the cars are the same except for the color of the lane they are assigned to for the events. But thank you for your thoughts. IF you have some you wish to donate, PM me.   :)   Doc
