I'm sure glad you don't have to make a living as a stand-up comedian...
Besides, you're wrong. Scratchbuilt slot cars don't go obsolete until AFTER the next race. That's the way it's always been.
LOL!!!

Thanks for posting the F1 pics.
Only Can-Am and Flexi GT to go and you're almost all caught up! Of course you will shortly have the pics from LaGrange to post.
BTW, tear them up in LaGrange. I would like to come up, but we're in our busy season right now. Hard to get any time off without quiting. With the job market the way it is, that is NOT a good idea.
Looking forward to seeing the rest of the cars from Abbeville.

It is appreciated... all that you do.

The ugly part of today was that I promised my wife about six months ago that we'd go to a barbershop concert tonight. And since she bought the tickets so far in advance that we had front row seats, there was no chance I could skip it.
It's about 11:20 Eastern and we just got home. I'm going to try to get up early enough to post pics of the the last six cars (Flexi GT class) before Dave Liebenthal shows up at 6:00 AM and we head south to LaGrange.
This is another one of those weekends where going back to work on Monday will be more restful! LOL!!

For the guys worried about too many "cookie cutter" JK chassis, while there is a fair amount
of them, they are constructed a bunch of different and cool ways.

I can't remember exactly how old Eli Nichols is (OK, now I see I listed him as 12 in an earlier post, is that correct, Don?), but he's an excellent and impressive young racer. Hope he can attend more of the SERRA events.
One of the few shots I took of the drivers during a race. This is Can-Am and, L to R, the drivers are Don Weaver, Marty Stanley, Ralph Thorne, Gary Shepard, Tommy Flythe, Eli Nichols, Ben Kernan, and Richard Sylvester.

Jay's been encouraging me to simplify the coverage I do for the SERRA events and since the turn-outs have been steadily increasing, I'm going to take his advice.
Rather than showing every car in detail shots as I have been doing, from here on I'll take a "massed" top and bottom shot of each class (like TonyP does for the Retro East coverage he posts) and then do body-off top and bottom detail shots of the podium cars and top shots of the concours cars for each class.
Hopefully taking a lot fewer pics will all me to get the race coverage posted more promptly.
Now... I'm starting to work on the LaGrange coverage for SERRA #9.
