Lindsay, we've all enjoyed having you race with us and hope some day in the future you can come back to the States to race with us again. We're also counting on you to start promoting retro racing Down Under now that you've experienced firsthand just how much fun it is.

And special thanks to Tommy for the help he gave me - without Tommy I would have not been there.
The racing in SERRA is great and as the results from the Sano show, Atlanta has some of the best around. My cars will be going back to Sydney and from what I can see on the net they will be well used.
There is a bunch if racers there that have just come back that I raced with 35 years ago (did I really say 35?).

It's been great having you a part of SERRA! Wish I had known you wouldn't be back for next year before Don B. and I left. Best of luck and have a safe trip back to the homeland.

Chad Harrington's winning car was actually built by Paul "Pablo" Wolcott and originally sent to me. IIRC we raced down at LaGrange and the car ran well for me, and Chad wanted to borrow it for the Raceworld retro race series in a week or two. I said, "Sure, but I promised Pablo I would send it back to him, so you gotta let me have it back in a bit." Chad said no problem and that was that.
A few weeks later, the "late" Jay Guard was going to Raceworld to practice and I asked him to snag Pablo's F1 back for me. Well... the story I got was that Chad wasn't around and so he asked Steve for the car. You would have thought Jay wanted his wallet, as Steve said in no uncertain terms was Jay NOT getting that F1! I'm not sure if fisticuffs were imminent, but there was a little tension until Jay backed off.
The part unknown to me, and also to Jay, was that Chad had spoken to Pablo in the interim and Pablo had given him the car! Once that fact became known, everyone was cool again.
Fun to see that the chassis can still win races, as Pablo doesn't have a raceway very nearby and thus has limited chances to test. It sure makes Chad's win impressive on several levels.
The car Mark Waddle ran is the car I drove poorly at Sano II. It is a Don Weaver creation and IRRC its first time out, driven by the experienced NC racer Randall Durham, it almost outpaced that Jay Guard guy at Abbeville. I call it a high polar moment chassis, as the .032" main plate is doubled with .062" at the ends, Makes for a heavy but very forgiving car.
Don Weaver first loaned me the chassis, then gave it to me. Now, don't get me wrong, Don's a GREAT guy, but the unspoken reason he gave the chassis to me is that he's built a better one for himself. Just look at the pics above. Don's shaved better than ten grams out of the design... He seemingly doesn't want the first-gen heavy sled back and that's sure OK with me!
I lent it to Marc Waddle at LaGrange, who said it was two-three tenths faster than his stuff, and he brought it home in a fine fifth place finish.

Cheater,The car Mark Waddle ran is the car I drove poorly at Sano II.
Actually that car is the one that Ralph Thorne drove to a fourth place finish at the Sano on the King track and to seventh place on the flat track.

Thanks for the correction; you're absolutely right.
I should know better than try to post from memory after a full day of work and a two-hour rehearsal...
