P-Class Shinoda Coupe - where is the car shown at?

I only know where one photo of this body is located.[you will have to figure that one out]
There is also a open GT version but slightly different and there is only one photo of this one also..[you will have to figure that one out also].
Maybe as the progress post will continue maybe someone will figure this one out.
So lets get started on this adventure once again with "The Shinoda Class Bodies?.
I will be using the stack/bondo method since we will be using lot of contours.
Glue the balsa stacks togeather with auto bondo and squeeze in an old vise.
Using a table saw to true the sides up.
The balsa stack after the truing process.
Added 1/16 inch sides after making a template as to what the side profile should look like.
Here is the start.
Control the basic lines for now.
Any ideas on the body?
Taking some profile and line work. The next step will be to bring in the other side so they will match.
Enjoy;

Here is the finished plug with many coats of auto paint.
Now we have to make the female silicone mold then cast the resin plug which will be used for making the bodies.
Don, [Question was posted on Slot Forum]the lines play a very important roll in carving a body. The next body I carve I will get more into the line work and other details that I have never gone into. Any suggestions on a body?
Thanks to all for posting your comments, gene/zr1

That is just beautiful and another fantastic master worthy of a great vintage chassis and motor!
You are the best carver out there bar none.
Ah, yeah... I have a couple of suggestions....
Either #8 or #6.
Pictures of actual cars here.
The red one with the black stripes would be extra cool!!!

Yes I am very interested in these. Are there some other photo"s?
I do not know if I can pull the very high sides on the body with the black stripes or not. My vacuum table is capable on 26+ inches so I will give it a try, if I can not pull the sides maybe Ray will pull the bodies,if he does'nt mind since he has done some of the high sides,I will sent him a finished resin plug.
So I will sharpen up the blades.
Thanks for your request.

The sides of the wings are more tapered than you might think.

Did I read right? The bondo(we call it bog) will act as a glue between the balsa sheets?
I always read your postings and enjoy the artform known as thingies.
Thanks

Yes the "auto bondo" is a very stable bond to balsa wood, it also allows you to carve thru the layers, as with glue it will create a hard line and will prevent you from finishing smoothly at the glue lines. Don't forget the bondo also serves as contour lines which will help control right and left sides of the body making them near perfect.
Also remember to use auto "spot putty" all over the plug working it into the balsa grain,it will fill in the grain, when sanded it will make everything smooth. Use a good filler primer over the spot putty.
You can look here, http://www.3m.com/US...do/default.html these are some of the products I use.
Look for a post titled ;
Corvette GS-II, a how to carve a balsa plug with contours, from: "Gene's World"
Here I posted a how to with the same method, good luck and thanks for you question

Well... we have a lot like that one already. But, it's up to what Gene wants to do ultimately....

I hope you don't mind me saying so but I heartily disagree with you about the blue body. I certainly would welcome a repop of that design made by Gene.
And we can have Ray do these two:

That way everybody will be happy (unless off course Rick and/or his friends have something against it)

PS Gene, just to repeat myself over and over again: great work as usual !
