According to Bob who told me yesterday, he gave the car to Ron Granlee for pictures but never got it back because he quit racing and no longer cared. He has no idea of how Dan acquired it. So who actually is the owner is difficult to assert... any lawyers out there? This would be between Bob and Dan at Pro Slot as I got the chassis from him for Bob to check out. I was then going to tumble it to clean it up.

I believe that Dan may have the right because of the one-year and one-day rule...

Who knows?
As far as the LASCM, whatever the owner decides is OK with us.

I second Bill's comments. Thank you so much for posting that article.
Do you have any other 'goodies'?
I am not a doctor, but I played one as a child with the girl next door.

I presently work in Africa so only home every other 28 days. I tried to look for other "goodies" while I was home last month but ran out of time. I know I have a box somewhere with the rest of the photos (black & white) from the race. Also, I have an old Texas newsletter from Jim Honeycutt called the "Aardvark" (printed on green paper!) that is kind of neat not to mention quite a stack of the old price sheets for slot car parts from most of the suppliers. Really fun to look at the price of some of those RTR open motors and cars! Lots of old setups, arms and chassis from the period also. I am a pack rat and have kept a lot of stuff in storage for all these years I have been working in Africa.
Cheers,
Steve

I still have the Silver Dollar. As far as the stack of cash. It was "500" brand new $ 2.00 Bills.
Pardon my mis-placed decimal point.

Long weekend with round the clock racing. Great facility and very well run.
Here is a scanned copy of my original 1976 Thrash-O-Gram. I hope you can read it!!! I took most of the pictures and sent to Joel after the race then he graciously sent me a copy. I have kept it for years! I still proudly display by "I was there" plaque on my current slot car box. Hope this is readable as I am somewhat technically challenged and uploading this from Africa!

I want to thank Rudy and Larry for using my controllers for their landmark wins at the Bicentennial Race. I hate to admit it but until I saw the the download I did not realize how many top racers were using my controllers in what was the biggest race in slot car history at the time. Very sad on my part. I have a lot of respect for Jim Difalco and his controllers and now I can see he had a good product to start with.
So with great humility I want to thank all the racers that used my controllers during those crazy years and to Speedy my number one customer.
