Thanks.

"Drive it like you're in it!!!"
"If everything feels under control... you are not going fast enough!"
Some people are like Slinkies... they're really good for nothing... but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.

They also had a American red Imperial and a yellow track and a black track that were all American tracks that were setup by American in the very early years, with all the counters, wall decorations, etc., that they provided then.
Foster had it setup in Santa Maria for a number of years until he got new tracks.

Joe, thanks for the info about Buzzy's. Wow, four American tracks still together in one building .
Let's keep the replies (and pictures, if you got them) coming.

The track was painted at least once in its lifetime. It's creating a bit of a excitement. The fiber board is solid with no flaking. I know its gonna need TLC and plan
on routing it.

Here in Chicago area there is enough free and hired advice to make sure this thing gets back into Retro race shape.

This track was retopped and has 4-1/2 inch lane spacing. The donut was redone to an "O" instead of a "D". I had to cut a wedge out of the finger to open it up to clear that dang pole and the two-piece end turns had to be modifed to fit together. Tons of work to make this fit together but she's smooth and covered in epoxy paint.

Do you still go to raceways?

I hope my old King is still around. Here is a picture of it in 1990 when I had my raceway. I sold it in 1991. The new owner put it in storage for awhile, then opened a raceway. He went out of business and sold it to someone in Lehigh Acres, FL. I heard that someone in the Midwest bought it from him, but I do not know who. If anyone knows the whereabouts of this track, please let me know
.
Here is a pic of Elvis Presley's King. The quality is not too good, but it is the only picture I have. I heard it is still in Graceland.

Yes, I still suport the tracks in the area at least once a week.
And last, I don't know of a King like yours in this area but if I hear of one I'll let you know.
More pictures of my track are on OWH under tech tips, trackowners corner, scroll down to changing King track layout. One of the guys that came to race took a bunch of pictures with his cell phone!

You will be happy to know that my dad, Frank at Route 93 Raceways in Akron, OH, has your track. To this day we race on it every day of the week, and what an awesome track it is. It is in great condition and is well maintained.
Here are some pics but i'll get some more in the future. Hope it brings back the memories and maybe you can come run on it again sometime!!!

I can't thank you enough for posting the pic of my old track. This track has sure been around. Glad to see it is being put to good use.
Many fond memories of racing on that track. It took six of us to move the lap counter piece, because we left it attached to two of the back straights. That track was a heavy bugger to move. I moved it twice.
While I was moving things around in the den the other day, I ran across this. It is the only piece of the track I have left. I kept it as a memento. It is a piece of the original Formica. Can you see where it is from? I can't recall, but it might be from the bank.
In your picture I can see the hump on the straight. Actually someone referred to it as a dip. I guess it depends on your viewpoint. Was it hard to get the old lettering "King Racing" off? Who did your Route 93 lettering? Looks good.
The whole track looks great. It warms my heart to see it again. I would love to come visit you and your dad and race on it again. Thanks again.

Ran into KERMIT Longley while at C & R Raceway in Bradley, IL. He has an American Black Royal 90 in his basement near Mt Vernon, IL that he is trying to bring back to life.

It's like a King, but with an extra "S" turn between the banking
and the donut.
Does anyone know if any of these still exist ?

Remember, two wrongs don't make a right... but three lefts do! Only you're a block over and a block behind.

When I was a teen, I raced on a Sovereign 220' in Johnstown, PA.

Ahhh yes... was located in the Westwood Plaza.
Also was one in Natrona Heights, which gave Western PA two of the beasts.
