Note:
- The Revell kits of the Mk II are repackaged Fujimi kits; I have seen them offered very cheaply. For a while there were tons of these "bagged" kits (no box, no instructions, no decals) available for a few dollars at local plastic model kit swap meets.
- Revell-Monogram re-issued the Aurora Ford GT kit that was intended to be a model of the Sebring-Daytona 1965 Ford GT.

I have a spare running Cox sidewinder in need of a body. This should make for a pretty cool slot car!

I haven't seen one in person but the pix look very good... Carrera has plans to produce many Mk II LeMans liveries in 1/24.
Of course it's more expensive than starting with a Fujimi kit, but Carrera slot car bodies are made of high impact plastic and take quite a lot of abuse with no damage. Another advantage is the Carrera cars are "finished" and for all intents and purposes- ready to be mounted on the chassis of your choice. This is a big plus for the paint and decal challenged among us.
Wouldn't these and the Carrera Ferrari 330 P4 be cool as "Jail Door" hardbody racers?

Maybe Keith has an update on how things are going with hardbodies at BPR.

Maybe it's me but the bottom photo is somewhat indistinct- not sure what it is.
The examples I gave appear to be Carrera's CGI renderings of the cars which if you follow Carrera do have some what of an odd look to them.

Well Mr Mill, WHY DONT YOU YOURSELF BUILD ONE, and bring it on down to BPR and show them /it,, to us ,,then,,,,US GUYS who are actually building JD Cars, might be interested in building some of these, cause they are very cool looking, and would be a hoot to run,
& just because we ALL aint racing Nascar HARDBODIES,doesnt mean we're not interested in building some types of them,,,

Sorry if I offended the obviously more knowledgeable Jail Door Racers, Keith Tanaka I believe referred to the hard body class as more club like in nature.

You'll have to come north of the left coast to race with the cool guys at SCR. We were racing scratchbuilt hard bodies (& they were damn fast), but we traded it in for the 1/24 BRM pre-painted cars & 1/32 Slot-It. Way too much fun.Unfortunately, we will only be able to dream, as we do not have enough guys interested on the left coast in Hard Body Racing, but these would be way cool.

You got a great deal on that Mk II and I'd be interested to see how it turns out.

Paul,Yup, those are certainly nice but the shape seems a bit off compared to these
That's because the Carrera pictures are not of the actual models but of incorrect-perspective CAD drawings. If you take the radiator exhaust line and the rear window line, they are parallel and it simply cannot happen in real life because these two lines should come from the same vanishing point and can NEVER be parallel. Hence they look bizarre. The final models will hopefully be better, like their Ferrari 330P4 was.

Hallo Martin,There is an older GT40 kit from ARII (LS) that has been re-released couple of years ago and appears from time to time at least here in Germany (ePay). Just saw an online shop here where it´s available. It´s a very nice kit and should be available.

Wow, that looks like the modified Cox body which appeared in a Japanese magazine as one of the "missing" Cox prototypes.

We were following the BRM race rules, but we're now running with foam tires, instead of the soft rubber tires. The foam tires are much quieter & better grip on SCR's road course. I also introduced a set-screw collet for the guide flag, since it was only being held in by a single o-ring. Not very sturdy, IMHO.Russ, do you race the BRM'S as is, or do you have a set of rules governing changes allowed to them ?
The 1/32 Slot-It cars are the best value for the money. Just add lead, some foam tires & you're ready to race. You could buy two Slot-It cars or one BRM & would still have to buy more accessories just to make it competitive. I love both cars, but the Slot-It is more fun to drive. Go figure.

Bob, I got this picture from the owner couple of years ago and he stated this being a LS (ARII) body that he put ona Cox Chassis. Didin´t hear of a missing Cox prototype before.
