I did with the pre-painted snap kit:

I modified a JK indy flexi chassis (fits like a glove), powered by a stock 16D motor.
I sold it on eBay awhile ago, but it was fun while it lasted.

Wow Russ,

Nice clean build up there! Is that a current Ford GT body?

Paul... no offense, but did you bother to read the post just above where Russ stated the following?

I did with the pre-painted snap kit:

Is this the polar lights snap together kit?

Didn't JHW do the box art for this car?

Jairus,

I fail to see the point of your post. Great addition to the thread...

Yeah, it was the Polar Lights pre-painted kit, available in red, black & yellow. Too bad they're no longer made, the finish wasn't half bad. AMT makes a regular glue kit, but you have to paint it. The other problem with both kits is too much plastic in the headlight area. There's an insert behind the headlight cover, making the front end heavy. Still, it make into a nice hardbody with very little work.

Kyosho also make some very good pre painted Mini-Z bodies of the new Ford GT
I am running one mounted on a Plafit super 24 chassis with a Plafit pointer motor

Cheers

The Kyosho bodies are super neat. I haven't seen their Ford GT, but if it's the same quality as the Porsche 962 I have, it'll be worth looking at.

Here's a pic of my plafit chassis'd 962.

Okay, I've put together the Fujimi kit and it looks great! I haven't figured out what interior to use yet so I won't post pics until it is completed and mounted to a chassis.

The kit is very nice and seems like a spot-on replica of the 1:1. The decals are quality pieces and were a breeze to apply. I added a couple of coats of future and it looks even better. The wheels need to be turned down and will make great inserts if I don't screw it up! The photo etched pieces are a nice touch too.

This is going to make one sweet looking slot car!

BTW Pat, I really like the looks of your 962.

Just for information post 11 Ford MKIIB Yellow number 1 with the bulge in the rear window was raced at the 1967 Daytona and was not a MKIIA backup for the MKIV's at Le Mans in 1967. Since all the MKII's racing at Le Mans in 1967 where updated to MKIIB specs. Carreras light Blue number 57 was a MKIIB at the 1967 Le Mans and number 3 Red with White stripes was the third of the Shelbys MKIIA at the 1966 Le Mans. I have seen pictures of the production Light Blue MKIIB 57 and while it looks good it has not been modified as a MKIIB. I suspect the tooling will be the same for the 1966 and 1967 MKII's. Which although look alike are certainly very different in reality. A simple way of describing a 1966 MKIIA from a 1967 MKIIB would be like comparing the 289 cobra with the 427S/C!! It was a MKIIA on testorone!!!
