Simply awesome Joe, you set the bar so high!
Looks to me, like a couple more plaques for the wall.

...You know, Jan, the way we pronounce it, your "Company Name" is a serendipitous pun?
Duf
Posted 15 October 2013 - 06:12 PM
Dear Duffy
Its not a company name, but have been my nickname since my radio controlled days in the late 1970th, and many danish slotracers know my by that name.
But ok, it's not a problem for me to omit it in future posts.
Jan

Oh no, don't omit! Let me explain - this is the risk in conversing with different people with sometimes-different languages!
My remark was based on the way we in the US would say your name, and it would sound like "Peeler" - which is definitely not what you would want your paint to do. It's an accidental joke, and a good one.
I hope this translates acceptably, and that I make clear that my comment was all in good humor.
Duf

I misunderstand it Duf, sorry
your translating is now well understod and I have got your point - ho-ho, and of course I don't want my paintjob to peel of before delivery, and hopefully not after. It have to stay on even after several crashes on the track
Thanks
Jan

I loved it. Keep it and (#@%!) 'em if they don't get the joke!
I like what you're doing, too, by the way, your arrangement of the colors makes good use of the space you got. I want to see more!

Thanks Noose, that Bass Pro Shop body looks awsome. Can't wait to get it in my hands to see the detail. Great job.

I still cannot get over the hand written lettering. is there any advice you can give to help with that? I have tried and tried to practice this but i cannot get them to look uniform at all!

I think having the body secured in some manner, freeing up both hands, can be a big factor along with having something to rest the brush on. I think I've heard Jairus refer to the doohickey you rest the brush on(?). Of course, I just hold the body in one hand and paint with the other. It never fails that I'm trying to do some small detail work, grip the body too tightly somehow, and it "pops" into another position... smearing the brush stroke. These days, I've just about given up on trying to really be "neat" with my lettering, opting more for a "comic book" approach... at leat mentally; I don't feel so bad when the letters come out all balloonish and irregular.

Since we had a nice ugly snow storm this weekend and I could not race, it gave me a chance to play catch-up on some painting. These are the ones completely done. More are still on the ol bench.
I took the new Chicagoland McLaren M7C "Plain Jane" i had previously sprayed quickly for the review process and spruced it up for Mr. Swiss.
Then I worked on these for folks who won bodies at the Fall Brawl.
A Lotus 40 for Sam Levitch
A Lola GT for Rube Brantley, the GTC-FK race winner.
Then it was time to finish off some for Jay Henry for the CPC
Tony P has his original Aero frame back so he wanted a body to put on it as it goes into retirement. This was used to win 4 races in row by him before Matt Bruce used it. Tony is also getting one of the new Parma BRMs. This is the first one I have done and it was pretty easy to paint.
These will be heading to Japan for Haruki's friend Satoshi Suzuki
Then I finished up these two for me

Satosihi raced at Raceways Musashino, one of the most competition-oriiented raceways in Tokyo during the late 60's.
It was my home raceway, too, at the end of the 60's.
Now Satoshi is racing very scale oriented slot cars with his friends:
Now Kamo-san is building a retro Can-Am ready to race car for Satoshi.
We, Retro Tokyo, are very proud of having Satoshi in our retro racing program.
Way to go, Satoshi.
