WTG, Yersey Yoe!
I bet you had more than just ONE Blue Moon!
maybe he had some before the racing started???
Maybe it was because New Orleans made the Super Bowl. The announcer from New Orleans said "Pigs have flown, Hell has frozen over, the Saints are going to the Super Bowl!!!"
I though I also heard that announcer also say Noose made the podium not once, but twice!!!

Tech went smooth (thank you!)
Concours was won by Roger Ruggieri (middle), Randy Kohr 2nd (left) and John Streisguth 3rd (right)
We got qualifying underway. Randy Kohr took TQ with a 5.502.
The sit outs for the A Main were as follows:
Randy Kohr 5.502
Jay Kisling 5.546
Noose 5.628
Mike Iles 5.643
Dave DeMott 5.688
Harry Boudreaux 5.698
The C Main got underway and it didn't take long for Ray Carlisi to shake the bugs out from an adventurous Saturday (uh hum) to take the lead and hold onto it for the win. Young Charley Levering took 2nd and Jersey John Molnar took 3rd.
Charley, Ray, Jersey John
C Main Results
Ray Carlisi - 225 laps - 5.661 best time
Charley Levering - 214 laps - 5.972
Jersey John - 212 - 6.104
Bruce Baughman - 206 - 6.334
Larry Labounty - 205 - 6.213
Steve Vogt - 205 - 6.049
Steve Levitsky - 184 - 6.220
Wes Pikunis - 150 - 6.130
This was Larry Labounty's first retro race. Welcome Larry!
The B Main was one tight race right from the beginning. Rob Kurylo got the lead and held on for the win. Mike Katz, Chris Radisich, Ray Carlisi were all exchanging the 2nd place spot with Ray taking it at the end for the other move-up and Chris just beating Mike for the podium spot.
Ray, Rob, Chris
B Main
Rob Kurylo - 234 laps - 5.800 best time
Ray Carlisi - 232 - 5.785
Chris Radisich - 231 - 5.732
Mike Katz - 231 - 5.841
Al Pollack - 224 - 5.829
John Streisguth - 220 - 5.848
Vinny Spina - 210 - 5.898
Roger Ruggieri - 177 - 6.095
The A Main got going and a first lap foo pa had Jay Kisling and yours truly at the back of the pack. Randy got out to a quick lead and was to hold it the rest of the race. Jay got loose and some had some troubles. Rob Kurylo was driving like Rob..never deslotting and working his way up the pack. I got hooked up started my way backup. Harry Da Horse, Dave DeMott, Ray Carlisi and Mike Iles were shifting positions now with Dave taking command. Rob and I battled back and forth for 2nd place. We started the last heat tied with Rob just ahead but with me on a better lane. So yes..there is a slot god and lo and behold I finally got a podium spot in a series and finally gave up my hold on the "Best of the Rest" award! LOL
Noose, Randy, Rob with Dave DeMott sneaking next to Noose.
A Main - For some reason the race sheet I got does not have all the correct fast times for this race. Sorry!

We have only had one retro race on this track (besides the Jail Door GP cars) and that was back in April 2009 with Can-Am cars. This was going to prove to be interesting as some of the better flat track drivers were in the field and hearing the lap times for practice I am sure also made some say no way.
Concours for this race was won by John Streisguth with his very cool looking Martini Chevron (center) with Pete Linszky taking second (left) and Randy Kohr 3rd (right).
Jay Kisling made it very clear he was going to be fast on this track and did so by taking the TQ spot with a 4.6236. Chris Radisich wasn't far behind him either.
Here were the sit outs for the A Main
Jay Kisling 4.6236
Chris Radisich 4.6405
Randy Kohr 4.8761
Noose 4.8789
Roger Ruggieri - 5.0128
Ray Carlisi - 5.0213
The B Main was run as a 9 man round robin for the 2 move up spots. Flat Track Dave DeMott jumped out to the lead and held onto it for the 1st move-up. The battle for the 2nd one was on between John Streisguth and Mike Katz with Fred Correnti not far behind them. John drove a brilliant red lane and was able to keep with Mike before he finally overtook him for 2nd.
John, Dave, Mike
The A main proved to be a demonstration race by Chris and Jay for sure as they flew around this track with ease. The lead bounced back and forth between them until Chris finally got it and held it. Meanwhile Randy Kohr and I were trying to get the 3rd place spot. We were tied for the last couple of heats then I got a 1 lap lead but had to go to ed lane. We started the last heat tie and I got out in front again and held on. Dang..whoda thunk!
Jay, Chris, Noose
